Gavin

I took a deep breath, flattening out my shirt. I can't believe I'm finally going to see Sophie after all this time. All the missed calls, uncertainty and worrying... it would soon all be over. We were reuniting, and I felt more nervous than ever.

"Gavin, you ok?" Sarah asked worriedly. "Hmm?" I hummed, her question bringing me out of my thoughts. "Oh, yeah, I'm fine..." I assured her, plastering on a fake smile.

Of course I was happy - happier than anything, but I couldn't fight the gnawing feeling of anxiety that had overcome me. Why was I so nervous? Maybe I'm just nervous because it's been so long since we last saw each other.

The longer I waited for her the more my anticipation grew, and my mind was only coming up with 100 new things to worry about. Oh my god, what if she doesn't like the shirt I'm wearing? Am I wearing the wrong shirt? No, what am I saying, this shirt is awesome. What if Sophie doesn't agree?

The sound of the doorbell ringing alerted me immediately. I shot up out of my seat, rushing over to the door. I knew it was Sophie on the other side - I could feel it. After all this time, leading up to this one moment where all that stood between us was a door. A single door.

I took one final deep breath of preparation before twisting the lock and swinging it open. There, on the other side, was Sophie fergi.

"Sophie, I-" I began, but before I could even get a word out her arms were wrapped around me as she embraced me in the warmest hug. In that moment, every feeling of nervousness and worry that once existed within me melted away. Slowly, a smile spread across my face as I responded to her hug.

"I missed you"  I whispered to her.
