Gavin
We got into my room and I shut the door behind me. I thought about whether or not I should lock it but decided not to - I didn't want to freak Sophie out or anything.
Sophie had already jumped onto my bed, rolling over to the left side. She patted the spot next to her and I sat down nervously on the edge. "Oh my god Garv you don't have to be so scared I'm not gonna bite you!" Sophie joked. I chuckled, moving closer to her so we were side by side.
"Well, I don't even know where to start..." she began honestly. "The only place to start is the beginning" I inputted. She nodded, taking a deep breath. "I guess you're right. Here goes nothing..."
(Sophie tells Gavin about everything that happened to her in Piper's squad and why she left)
"Sophie, I... I had no idea you were going through all that. I'm so sorry, I wish I... I wish I would've known!" I exclaimed. Sophie shook her head sadly, tears streaming down her face. "It's not your fault that you didn't know... you know Piper's mom Tiffany wouldn't let us reach out to you. She made us all sign contracts so we can never tell anyone the truth about what happened" Sophie told me.
"And the worst part is, she can say whatever she wants making everyone who leaves look bad but no one will ever know the truth about everything that goes on there because all of us kids are sworn to silence" Sophie sobbed.
I put an arm around her, pulling her head onto my shoulder. "I hate what happened to you... I hate it, and I'm sorry I couldn't do anything to help you" I seethed through gritted teeth. I felt my hands ball into anger at the thought of all the ways Sophie had been hurt emotionally.
"And the worst part is... the worst part is not being able to see Jentzen" Sophie cried out, shaking harder. At the mention of his name my jaw clenched slightly with... jealousy?
"Do you still love him?" I asked softly. I felt Sophie shaking her head yes. I sighed. "I'm sorry" I said sincerely. "You didn't deserve to be broken up with through a YouTube video, that was pretty crappy of them... but do you know if Tiffany made him do it?" I questioned.
She raised her head off my shoulder, shrugging. "I don't know. I've tried to reach out to him on everything but I'm blocked. I wish I could just talk to him one final time and get the answers I deserve but I guess that will never happen" she sighed.
"Try not to think about it, just remember, I'm here for you and that's all that matters, ok? You're starting fresh with a new squad to call your family!" I encouraged, trying to cheer her up.
I saw a faint smile form on her lips. "Thanks Gavin" she mumbled, throwing her arms around me and pulling me in for a hug. I tried to ignore the fluttering in my heart.
