PROLOUGE
I wake up with sweat pouring down my face, my head feels as if someone is banging on it with a large hammer. I put my hands over my ears, trying to ease the pain, but all I can hear is the thump of my brain. I indecisively reach over my bed for my phone, checking the time, and inverdily groan when I realize it's three in the morning. I pull my blanket off my body and head into the washroom as the pounding in my head increases. The walk to the washroom makes me feel as if there is an earthquake shooting through my whole body. I shakily grab onto the bathroom counter, feeling an overwhelming sense of dizziness shooting through me. I squint my eyes as I try and adjust to the intense light. The light, along with my pounding head make me feel extremely fatigued. As I adjust to the newfound light, I look up into the mirror, and there, on my forehead sits a huge gash of blood, and bruises that cake the side of my neck and make their way down to my chest. A loud gasp escapes me, as I try to understand what has happened to me. I look down and see my arms covered with a sticky red substance that I identify as blood. Is it my own blood? There doesn't seem to be any wound all this blood could come from. I look into the mirror once more, staring back into my light blue bloodshot eyes, as I realize there is a message written on my shower curtain. I turn around slowly, and read it carefully. "This is not the end."
