ESMIE TOOK A DEEP, STEADYING BREATH AS SHE JOINED THE THRONG OF STUDENTS MAKING THEIR WAY TOWARDS THE GREAT HALL.

The air in the corridors felt heavier than usual, laden with an unspoken tension that seemed to ripple through the mass of students. Esmie felt her pulse quicken, but she kept her expression neutral, watching Snape with a wary eye.

He continued, his voice cutting through the murmurs, "Any staff or student found aiding Mr. Potter will be punished severely. Furthermore, anyone with knowledge of his whereabouts who fails to come forward will be treated as equally guilty."

Esmie swallowed hard. Her heart pounded in her chest, and she could feel Harry tense beside her. She glanced up at him, her voice barely above a whisper. "Harry..."
