I'm not sure where to start. I might as well start at the beginning. It'll explain how we all ended up in jail.
I was walking along Fifth Avenue, I had just got done seeing a picture show with a few friends. We all went our separate ways of course. I wasn't scared or anything, it was just nice; you know? To walk alone with your thoughts.
I must have been six blocks away from my loft when I turned on Graves street, it wasn't the normal route home but, it sure was a hell of a shorter one.
I expected to see the normal suspects, Lily and April Winters playing kickball in the middle of the road with the Daniels boys. Jack Gill outside practicing his guitar he got his thirteenth birthday. The teenagers getting out of high school. Not to mention Mrs. Reynolds cat, Rommie roaming around--She lost her husband and son while they were fighting the wars.
When I got on Graves, I didn't see that at all.
"Hey," A girl slightly taller than me called out, giving me a curt head nod. "What are you doing here?" She asks.
"I-I was just walking home." I stammered.
"I think you scared the poor girl." Another girl spoke smiling at me. "Apologize."
"Uh, no." The girl replied back.
"I'm not scared." I scoffed.
"You're comment is a little late honey." The third girl said showing herself.
"Be nice!" A shorter girl with highlights swatted her.
"Can I go..you know home?" I ask nervously.
"Yes, you can." A huskliy, yet smooth voice said emerging from behind the four girls.
"Thanks." I said as I began walking closer to them.
The taller girl stood in front of me while raising up her hand telling me to stop. "I thought you were going home?" She asks.
"I am." I said avoiding her gaze. "It's that way." I said lying through my teeth as I point directly behind her.
A smile grew on all of their faces, followed by brief giggles escaping their lips. "No, you don't." The soothing raspy voice repeated ringing in my ears. "You live that way," She said pointing to the right of them. "You never go this way."
"How would you know? You stalk me or something?" I snapped.
"I don't know Lauren do we?" The girl smirked.
"Maybe." The girl I presumed to be Lauren replied. "Would you like that type of thing Y/N?" She asks, tilting her head a little to the left as ahe folded her arms across her chest.
"How do you know my name?"
I know weird shit happens around here but, this a new. I've lived here my whole life and I know everyone; how is it that I know none of them yet they seem to know me.
"Are you scared?"
"Normani, I think we established that." The girl with the raspy voice said directing her attention to the dark skinned girl next to her.
"I'm sorry Karla, is my question annoying you?" Normani asked back.
"I told you not to call me that." Karla gritted her teeth.
"Hoi," The taller girl nudged Normani. "Apologize to Chancho."
"That hurt Dinah." Normani gritted her teeth, as she rubbed her arm. "I'm sorry Camila."
"Thank you." Camila smiled.
"Ally? Do you have anything to say?" Camila asked the shortest girl of the group.
The girl smiled at me and shook her head. "No."
Lauren rolled her eyes at them, she unfolded her arms and ran her fingets through her hair. As I stood there silently. "Y/N?"
"I think I'm gonna go." I mumbled backing away slowly.
"Wait." Camila abruptly said.
"Why?" I ask.
"Do you trust us?" Lauren asks.
Is she fucking serious? How could I trust somebody I don't even fucking know.
"Why? should I?"
"This is the Miami Police Department, we have you surrounded!"
"I'll guess you'll have to find out." Lauren winked at me as she yanked my hand, dragging me along with them.
They're criminals.
