Chapter 1: Kidnapping River?!

S. Rose's POV:

I was in my hideout, trying to come up with a plan to deal with Bryan. I began thinking about the people who were closest to him. There was that Inpu guy, and then there was one more—what was his name?

S. Rose: River! He's been around Bryan longer than that Egyptian boy. This could get interesting!

— At Camp —

River's POV:

I noticed Bryan spending time with Inpu, even after I had asked him not to. I hated to admit it, but I felt a wave of jealousy toward Inpu. Bryan had just met him not long ago, yet they interacted like they had known each other for years! When I finally snapped out of my thoughts, I realized Bryan had caught me watching them.

Bryan's POV:

When I turned around, I saw River observing us. He looked both jealous and upset that I was talking to Inpu. As I locked eyes with him, he seemed even angrier. I was about to say his name when he turned and walked away.

Inpu: Bryan, are you okay?

Bryan: River looked jealous. Do you think it's because I'm spending more time with you than him?

Inpu: I'm not sure, Bryan. Maybe you should talk to him.

I nodded and set off to find River to discuss things.

After walking for a while, I found him in the garden at my house, wearing a sad expression.

Bryan: River?

River's POV:

I turned to see Bryan looking concerned.

River: Now you decide to talk to me...

After saying that, I sat down in a corner of the rose garden. Bryan looked hurt, but he sighed and pressed on.

Bryan: River, please... What's wrong?

I was frustrated; he was the son of Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love, and he didn't even realize it. I looked up at him, tears welling in my eyes.

River: Bryan, haven't you figured it out yet?!

Bryan: Figured out what?!

I stood up and moved closer to him.

River: Bryan, I have feelings for you, and I want to be more than friends! I've done everything I could to get your attention since the day we met. I've waited and waited for you to notice me, but you never did!

Bryan's POV:

I was in shock. How had I never noticed? As River finished speaking, I could see tears in his eyes, and I was at a loss for words.

Bryan: I... I'm sorry!!

River's POV:

After Bryan said that, he just flew away, leaving me alone in the garden as the sun set behind me. I stood there, frozen, tears streaming down my face. My ocean dragon crystal began to glow with a faint blue light, but I was too heartbroken to notice until I heard a laugh behind me.

S. Rose: Aww, looks like Bryan broke another heart!

I turned to see Seductive Rose standing in the doorway of Bryan's house. Before I could respond, he was suddenly right in front of me, forcing me to step back to maintain my balance.

S. Rose: Hello, River! Sorry to interrupt your little alone time, but I think you're coming with me!

The next thing I knew, everything went black.

S. Rose's POV:

I used my sword to knock River unconscious. As he fell forward, I noticed tears in his eyes—likely from the incident with Bryan. Just as I was about to take off and fly back to my hideout, I heard a voice calling out.

Mario: Let him go, Seductive Rose!!

I turned to see Mario along with Xylo and Bryan standing there. A smirk appeared on my face as I looked at Bryan; I could tell he was scared.

S. Rose: Why should I? You guys never really paid attention to him anyway!

I directed that comment at Bryan, and he understood my implication. Mario stepped in front of Bryan, ready to confront me with his sword drawn.

S. Rose: Oh, don't worry. I've already got what I wanted!

With that, I flapped my wings and soared into the sky.

S. Rose: Until next time!

I flew away, leaving them startled at what had just transpired.

Mario's POV:

I watched as he flew away with River.

Bryan: We have to save him! Who knows what Seductive Rose has planned for him?

Mario: I agree, Bryan, but we need to think this through first!

Xylo: I'll go tell Kaykrae about this. I agree with Mario; we need a solid plan before confronting him.

Bryan: Fine. I just hope he'll be okay!

Xylo: We all do, Bryan... we all do!
