Dongyoung skidded into the seat beside her, nudging into her gently as she looked up from her laptop.
"What are you doing?" He leaned in and peered at her screen. Seyeon pushed his forehead away with her finger.
"You can't look at it yet," she replied, scrunching her nose. He pouted, his puppy eyes pleading with all his energy, but she didn't give in. She's been working on a promotional video for a digital company over the winter break, so most of her work is confidential.
"Tsk, you're too obedient," he scowled jokingly, rubbing her head as he poked fun at her. She didn't mind it though because it was true, she didn't want to get in trouble with her supervisor; also because she loves the feeling of Dongyoung's soft touch.
Across the cafe, two pairs of eyes watched them in annoyance.
"Aish, can they get a room already?" Ten muttered, leaning against the sink as Mark dangled his legs from the countertop. Seeing his two friends behaving like this, he couldn't help but gag too.
"At least they're happy," he sighed, feeling slightly guilty for helping Seyeon out a few weeks back. But it wouldn't kill to see his best friend finally with someone.
Ten turned to Mark in curiosity, examining his expression.
"How about you then? You never actually told us what happened," he casually asked, causing dread to rise up in Mark. The latter exhaled deeply, remembering about his past experience.
"Don't even ask, she wasn't worth my time anyway," he dissed, shaking off the unwanted memories in his head. He would rather die than to get back with someone who cheated. Ten sensed his discomfort, so he discontinued the topic.
"But how did you get Seyeon to confess anyway?" He changed the subject, "She doesn't seem like the one to do it."
Mark's eyes changed to a glimmering sparkle, his lips pulling into a smirk as he folded his arms.
"It wasn't easy, but I know a few loopholes about her," he gloated, recalling the exact words he told her.
Not doing anything is equivalent to jumping off a cliff. Why regret when you could just do it in the first place? There's no harm in trying.
"You're proud of that?" Ten scoffed in disbelief, but he didn't know Seyeon as much as Mark. She was totally convinced.
"Just admit that you're jealous of my dating advice." He ran a hand through his hair and battered his eyelids, with Ten rolling his eyes. "Now let's just admire my wonderful piece of artwork."
He gestured towards the corner table where the once awkward pair was busy chatting away endlessly, totally praising himself for the outcome.
"I rather not," Ten commented in disgust as he disappeared into the break room. Mark shook his head in disappointment, mumbling to himself, "Poor thing, he doesn't understand."
He diverted his gaze back to his masterpiece, watching it like a proud dad. The couple was currently squabbling over a beverage.
"Why don't you like this?" Dongyoung retorted, pointing to the mango flavoured tea in front of him.
"I don't like the sweet taste, and the texture is weird," she replied, still wincing at the aftertaste in her mouth. Maybe it's because she's too used to the bitter taste of coffee, but her sweet sense has deteriorated a lot.
"Gosh, you and your cups of coffee."
"Your cup of coffee."
She grinned shyly at him as he flinched at her sudden cheesiness, before giving a peck on her nose playfully.
