I woke up the next morning and found my book lying open on my chest. Don't Stop Believing by Journey was playing from the speakers and everyone was still half asleep. I groaned and forced myself to a standing position. I closed my book and put it on my trunk. I got changed out of my pyjamas and put on some shorts and a short sleeve top. The rest of my tent mates got dressed as well.

I walked over to Mady and gave her a hug.

"Morning" I said.

"Good morning"

"I could really use some coffee," I groaned and Mady laughed.

"Same" Mady and I walked to breakfast and the rest of my tent mates followed.

"Last night was fun," I said.

"You saved the bonfire, man" My sister bumped her hip with mine. I laughed. The rest of camp was waiting to be let inside the Dining Hall. Elizabeth let us in and was soon trampled by tired and hungry campers. Mady and I rushed over to help her up.

"Thank you girls. I heard you helped with the fire, Nor" Elizabeth stood up and I nodded.

"Well that was very nice of you" Elizabeth said and walked to the staff table. I smiled and Mady and I made our way to our table. Of course, Brandon was there, waiting.

"Good mornings, beauties" Brandon smirked and patted down the seat next to him.

"I assume you're the beast?" Mady muttered so Brandon couldn't hear her. We sat down and Brandon sat beside me.

"Woke up on the wrong side of the bed, Nor?" He asked and I rolled my eyes.

"No," I replied. "I'm actually doing very well," I said.

"How about you, Mads?" He asked Mady.

"I'm doing good. You?" Mady asked him.

"I'm also doing good," Brandon smiled. The fourth years were called up to get scrambled eggs and toast. I thanked Honey and retreated back to my table to find the rest of my tent mates there with the same thing on their plates. The only addition was Brandon who didn't move a inch when Zady told him to leave.

We didn't really talk much during breakfast. Brandon occasionally tried to flirt with Mady and I.

"So, Nor, what are you doing tonight?" Brandon had asked at the middle of the meal.

"Sleeping" I replied. There weren't any staff announcements so we just made our way to our first activities.

"We are going to be doing meditation today," Lola said at the beginning of yoga. Everyone crossed their legs as instructed and placed our hands on our knees. Lola started saying affirmations:

"Breath and look into your soul. Connect with nature" she said. I breathed deeply and did what she said. My eyes were closed and it felt good to relax and breath. My mind was in a completely different place. I couldn't control what was coming next.

I heard murmurs and a few people were screaming. I opened my eyes and saw that everyone was staring at Mady and I. Some ran in terror while others pointed and said:

"Witches" or "monsters"

I didn't know why until I looked over at Mady and saw her floating inches above the ground. She hadn't noticed yet. I looked down at my hands as hex bolts were forming at my fingertips and I too was hovering.

"Mady" I spoke and she opened her eyes. She looked down and glided back to the ground. I did too and relaxed my hands so that the hex bolts disappeared. I grabbed Mady's arm and we ran behind the Stage Room.
