I've always cared deeply for Ophans. So recently, I sponsered a child, five- year old Simiton from Kenya, Africa. She lives in a town called Gangnesia, where drought is common and quality heathcare is rare. Just a few weeks ago, she send me the ABC's. She'd copied out in an unsteady, oversized hand. In return, I send money, letters, and pictures of my family.
Somehow, Simiton has changed my perspective on adoption- and my own past. By helping another person, I heal. Adoption hurts, but my pain is also a gift. It carreis me along, like a lotus flower on the Ganges
