Chapter 7 Government Asserting ~Blaize Emadsow~

"WHAT!" Chet says, as Lux walks in kisses me on the cheek. She goes to the fridge gets a can of orange juice then says, "Hey guys and... girl." "Hey, by the way this is Oasis." I tell her. "Oh ok cool" she answers and I think, wow she is way to nice. "Ok so about the government, what the heck were you thinking, Blaize" Chet yells. "I just wanted to see if it worked," I reply. "And it did, now we're all in trouble because of your little mistake," Chet, once again, yells angrily. "Speaking of government, there's a lot of police people and vehicles out today, and why are you guys yelling, what's going on," Lux says confusingly , then Oasis speaks calmly, "I'm kind of from... Earth." And Lux either looks excited about that or surprised. "Oh" is all she says. Then we all hear the door being gently knocked on. I tell Oasis and Lux to follow me into the basement and then I tell Chet to answer the door. He agrees then says "If anything happens, you know what to do," and I know what that means, then I go to the basement as Oasis and Lux follow. All I here are faint murmurs then I hear shouts. Silence is all I hear after that. I peek out the basement door and my brother is gone and the door is wide open. Gone. Gone. Gone. I then begin to cry. I can't help it. My parents are both dead and my brother is gone because the government took him. Lux tells me it will be ok, but I know it's a lie just to make me feel better. All I want to do is hold her as tight as possible and never let go because she might be next. So I do. I hug her so tight that I might be crushing her. Then I let go and say sorry because I think I actually hurt her. But I didn't. I feel terrible because all of this is my fault. If it wasn't for my stupid curiosity my brother would still be here right now. Lux hugs me one more time and tells me it's not my fault but it's not true. Then Oasis ask "What do we do now?" and I say, "We go to my brother's warehouse on the edge of town, but we'll have to take the tunnels underground because the government will see us. After we get there we talk about our next move."
