The situation I was ranting about has been resolved way faster than I thought it would be, so this is no longer relevant. But if you want to know what happens when I get really angry/upset... this is what happens. --Abi

Sorry guys, I just SOOOOO need to rant. I just do. Here it goes.

So, as you might have heard from my shameless self-promotion a few updates ago, I've  had a premade cover thread open. And one of the covers, who's premade title was June, got requested by someone, but I forgot to take it off the list of covers people could request. So someone else-- let's call her Momo, because why not name her after the flying lemur from Avatar, it makes me feel better-- came along and requested it. And me, feeling SOOOOOO bad that I messed up, didn't just explain the mistake and apologize, but offered to make Momo a new (different) cover (Even though it was  thread for only PREMADE covers!) in a similar style, and she could pick the model and background and color scheme and everything. And she didn't sound very grateful for that, but I though, come on, I'm the one who messed up here, and technology isn't any good at translating the tone of a message anyway, so whatever about that, I moved on.

But then Momo started asking me, not even a full day later, to finish it (I had a lot of studying to do, so I hadn't started). Still not an issue, she couldn't have known I was busy.

And then today she messaged me and said she was canceling her request, not because it's taking too long or because of my original mistake, but because she's figured out how I made the cover and she's made her own herself. She sent me the link to it, and it just made me SO angry. Okay, so I'm not getting my payment, I'm alright with that. Fine, she canceled her request, that's her business.

BUT WHAT ABOUT THE FACT THAT SHE'S STEALING MY COVER?

She barely changed anything. She changed the background color and made the gold stripes silver and used a different model (in basically the same pose, just front instead of back). But she used the same picture for the stripes as I did, the exact same placement for everything, the same way of repeating the title and outlining one of them in white, and putting the author on one the stripes-- basically, everything that matters. Everything that made MY premade (that I, not her, designed) unique.

Not to mention, did she even think about the person who had already requested June? I as going to make Momo's cover in a way that they wouldn't be too similar and neither could be upset but I don't thinks Momo even spared a thought for that other writer. And writers not being sensitive about basic things like that makes me really angry! So authors can be over-protective and not always support each other like they should, but there's something called BASIC DECENCY. And I think that extends to not having basically the same cover when you know they requested it first.

Am I overreacting? They're not the exact same cover, and she said she'd give me "inspiration credit" when she posted it, but it made me soooooo angry. I still am angry. I mean, inspiration credit? How about waiting for me to make your cover like I said I would instead of stealing my design?

Actually one last thing-- don't go trying to find Momo and lecture her or anything. (Especially now that the situation has been resolved and she is way more understanding then she came off as) I'm going to handle this maturely
