Chapter 3

This morning Yeolli woke up to the sound of an alarm that could damage his eardrums. Yeah.. he set two alarm, so he could wake up from his world. In a semi-conscious state, he heard his mother's voice,

"Yeolli-yaa.. are you awake? Hurry up take a shower and eat this warm soup." shouted eomma.

He said, "uhh eomma."

He immediately gets out of bed and looked into the mirror. Actually, this is his habit. Every time he wakes up, he always looks at the mirror and sees his own face.

"Woahh! Look at you. You are so handsome even when you woke up, haha." he spoke to himself.

*Ddrrrtttt drrrttt..

Eriyaa

Where are you? Come quickly, we have a presentation this morning. Don't be late or I'll kill you!!!

"What kind of day is this?" mumbled Yeolli. He skipped breakfast for the sake of a girl who had threatened his life. This girl would really kill him if he comes late.

[7.29 a.m]

"I was about to kill you if you didn't come in a minute," said Eriya.

"Wait, let me take a breath. So what should I do?" asked Yeolli.

"I've prepared everything, just explain your part on the material"

"Ok, Thank you" he replied.

Honestly, Yeolli didn't know why this girl was always so harsh when talking to him. It's been a year since he knew her. This girl didn't talk much, but she wasn't that stern when talking to other people. A few seconds later, a boy ran towards the class shouting, "Hurry to your seats, the teacher has come!" his name is Baek. The loudest kid in class. Everyone obeyed his words, then he suddenly laughed out loud, "I'm touched that you guys believed me." while pretending to wipe his tears. Then one class got annoyed with Baek.

Two minutes later, a middle-aged woman came in and said, "Annyeonghaseyo" which the students replied with, "Annyeonghaseyo".

Yeolli and Eriya were ready in front of the class to present the result of their discussion. But no...This is not the result of their discussion but rather a group assignment done by each individual, there is no result of the discussion here. Why? Because one of these group members was so busy at that time. It's hard to make a schedule with Yeolli because he's busy practicing the band after school. Fyi, Yeollie is a drummer. He is admired by many school girls, and it's not uncommon for girls from other schools to come to this school event only to see his performance.

[10:00 a.m]

Piano melodies can be heard throughout this school, indicating that class is over and it's time to take a break. Some of the students ran to the cafeteria, fighting over the queue to get food. Every day, the food menu here is different. 1 serving of food usually consists of Rice, Potato Soup, Kimchi, Stir-fried pork, and chives. All of these foods are provided in equal quantities and portions. Yeollie walked towards the cafeteria, and from far, he already saw a very long queue. But in the line, there was a boy who waved his hand at Yeolli.

"Ya!! Yeolli comes here.. come here! I've guarded your place" shouted Baek with pride.

"Yass.. you're the best. Would you be my girlfriend, huh?" Yeolli asked in a mischievous tone.

"How can someone reject you, honey" Baek replied jokingly.

Everyone who was in front and behind them just stunned. Everyone knows that Yeolli and Baek are crazy best friend. They are two people who share the same brain cells.

Eriya who was eating saw these two dorks in the queue. She only frowned when he saw the 2 best friends meet each other. Yeolli who saw Eri was eating alone, immediately approached and sat in front of Eriya and followed by Baek.

"Why you always eat alone?" asked Yeolli.

There was no answer from Eriya. She just continued eating. Baek then laughs at Yeollie who is ignored by Eriya. "You can't get closer to her." he teased.

Eriya who had finished eating, get up from her seat and just walked away.

"Wow.. she really ignores us. How can?? even we are quite famous in this school" said Baek.

Time passed until it was time to go home. All the faces of these students looked very tired. All the 11th graders one by one began to leave the classroom. In Korea, the hours after school are different for each level. For 10th graders, they usually go home early around 3:00 pm. While the 11th graders will go home at 5:00 pm. Then 12th graders, for them the class ends at 8:00 pm but each student needs to take additional classes until 9.30 pm. You can imagine how tiring it would be to be a 12th grader in Korea. The people here really care about education. Yeolli who is now in grade 11 can return home now. This time, he didn't back home with Baek, because Baek will go to PC Bang (Internet cafe) before returning home.

Yeolli has to go back to the house because there will be a private teacher who will teach him at home. Yeah, his parent called a private teacher to prepare for college entrance. He is still in the 11th-grade but has been preparing for that from now on. Many of his friends said that "Yeolli's life is not fun." but he thought that it was all for his good and not everyone was able to bring a private teacher. So he felt that he should be grateful for his current situation.
