Before you leave a hate comment or something, let me explain.
I throughly enjoyed Pokemon Shield. Like, the moment I stepped into the wild area my jaw dropped because "Holy shit, that's a fuckin Steelix. It's so fuckin big." And that was the mood I had the whole time. Just awe. Because all of these pokemon were in their natural environment to scale. And that's the coolest shit.
The story was fine but the characters are lovely. They're adorable and memorable. I love em.
The new pokemon were cool, and even the ugly ones (fossils) I appreciated because it fits so well.
AND THE GYM CHALLENGE IS AWESOME. I would say it was the most fun and overall the best gym challenge from a worldbuolding standpoint.
AND THE CHAMPION TOURNAMENT IS SO SMART AND I LIKE IT SO MUCH MORE THAN THE ELITE 4.
I dont mind the dex cut because I was never big on the whole filling the dex aspect of the games. And I dont care that they reused assets because it wssnt a big deal to me.
At first I was skeptical of the DLC but more on that in the next two chapters.
Like, the only bad things are that the postgame is meh and the main story was predictable and pretty boring
So yeah overall 8/10
