yachi pov
i woke up to the sound of my alarm. my mom was on a work trip, so i was left home alone. i quickly got up to make sure i had enough time to get ready. i didn't have a lot of friends at school, no one really wanted to be friends with the teachers pet anyway.

~time skip~ at school
*ring*
i quickly jumped up at the sudden sound of the bell telling us it was time for lunch break. i packed up all my stuff and went out to put it away in my locker, but i was stopped by someone.

"ACK!!" i yell before realizing who i had bumped into.

"oops sorry yachi!! i didn't mean to startle you!" kiyoko said with a concerned voice. ugh! why'd it have to be kiyoko who i bump into?!? she's been my crush for almost a year now. i am a first year, and ever since i came to school, kiyoko was the first one who really welcomed me. i mean we were never really close friends, but she was always nice to me.

"no it's okay kiyoko!! i was just zoning out!" i say frantically, nearly yelling.

"haha i'm glad your okay then" kiyoko's laugh was so sweet, "i was actually just looking for you." she'd been looking for me?!?

"oh... d-did you need anything kiyoko-senpai?" i manage to say, shaking a little after hearing that kiyoko was looking for me.

"as you may know, the third years are graduating soon..." did she really have to remind me about that. it hurts even imaging not being able to see kiyoko everyday! i was not ready for her and the other third years to graduate. "and i'm the manager of the boys volley ball team, i'm not going to be able to be the manager for much longer, because collage is coming soon. i was wondering if you would like to be the new manager of the team?"

i was shocked, yet honored to hear that kiyoko thought of me to be the new manager. i will admit that the team scared me, i mean THEY'RE ALL SO TALL... well mostly all. yet, i couldn't just say no to something that kiyoko personally picked me for!!

"i-i... i- ummm" kiyoko quickly cut me off, "you don't have to make a decision just yet!! how about u come to the practice today? we can see if it is a good fit!"

"umm okay kiyoko-senpai!! i guess i'll see you later today!" i didn't want to leave kiyoko, but i hardly had anything to eat yet and i was starving. we wave goodbye and after she leaves the hallway, i quickly run outside to start eating. what did i get myself into?

~time skip~ after school

i stand outside the huge gymnasium thinking that this is my last chance to run away. NO!! I HAVE TO DO THIS!! I PROMISED KIYOKO!! right as i opened the door, i saw all these tall guys. i had only seen them from far away but... THEY LOOK EVEN SCARIER UP CLOSE!!! just as i was about to run out kiyoko saw me.

"YACHI!! COME OVER HERE AND MEET EVERYONE!!" kiyoko yells loud enough to make everyone turn and face me. i seriously felt like i was about to pass out. but i quickly snapped out of it and ran over to kiyoko. "everyone this is yachi"

they all greeted me. i was glad that there was at least some shorter people.

"everyone this is yachi, she is thinking about being this teams new manager when i have to leave for college! yachi this is the volley ball team." again, it pained me to hear kiyoko talking about college. i didn't even want to think about college. kiyoko interrupted my thoughts by going through everyone's name, "over there are the other third years asahi, sugawara, daichi, and ennoshita. those are the second years tanaka and nishinoya. and finally the third years hinata, yamaguchi, kageyama, and tsukkihima." as she listed of the names, she pointed each one out. i quickly wrote everyone's name down and a description of them:

karosuno team
sugawara; gray hair, sort of tall, kind looking
daichi: brown hair, same height as suga
asahi: second tallest, long brown hair, scary
tanaka: bald
nishinoya: short with dyed hair
tsukihima: tallest, blond, glasses
yamaguchi: cute, green hair, sweet
hinata: short!!! orange hair
(oop almost forgot about ennoshita)
ennoshita: simple, black hair, average height

"welcome yachi" everyone said in unison making me feel embarrassed, yet welcomed.

"h-hi" i manage to mumble out before quickly turning my gaze to the ground. i could feel everyone's eyes staring right at me. "it's nice to meet you all" i try to break the awkward silence, yet was unsuccessful.

"okay, you can all get back to practice now" kiyoko says after notices the award silence. i sigh as soon as they all walk away, bowing to me as they walk away one by one.

kiyoko turned to me and gave me a genuine smile, which made me blush. i returned the smile and we sat to watch everyone play. kiyoko talked to me about school and how the club could be so much fun sometimes. after everyone was done with practice, kiyoko decided to walk home with me.

i get my stuff as fast as possible, not wanting to be the one holding us back. i waited at the door for kiyoko to come and walk home with me. it doesn't take long for her to come up to me.

"kiyoko-senpai, are you ready to go home?" she nodded. we walk home together in comfortable silence, yet i couldn't shake this feeling that someone was looking at me. i turn to see kiyoko looking down at me. "kiyoko?"

kiyoko looked forward quickly and didn't answer me until taking a deep breath. "so what did you think of the team?" she completely brushed over what happened. i guess i am just overthinking.

"i thought it was really fun, though kinda scary at times. that tsukihima is so tall!! and asahi!" i go on and on about how they are like giants. she just giggles every time i bring up a new name.

"well, how would you like to come to tomorrow's practice as well?" i couldn't help but smile. she seemed to WANT me to go! i couldn't refuse.

"of course! can we walk home together tomorrow too?!" i say excitedly. i couldn't help it! she was so beautiful, and caring, and- "of course we can" she cut off my thoughts. i smile back at her.

we walk a bit more before reaching the street that connects ours. she tells me she would walk the rest of the way to my house but i tell her it is okay, and that i'd be fine. she seemed, "upset" about my answer?! i just waved goodbye before going to my house and falling asleep right away. what a great day.

AHHHH part one done!! i hope you guys enjoyed it, i tried to make it as entertaining as i could. anyway i hope to guys enjoy this series 😘
