*Flashback*

"So, what are you saying?" Nick asked.

"I'm saying that I don't like you anymore." I swallowed, trying to hold back the tears.

"Why?"

"I I just don't. " I swallowed again. Eye contact. My sister told me to keep eye contact, or I would look like a wuss.

"Uh, um ok. Well,... Where does this leave us?" His voice was shaking. God nick don't cry. Then ill cry.

"Nick," I took a huge breath. "I'm breaking up with you. " I clamped my mouth shut.

His eyes started to water and he got up and left. As soon as I heard the door shut, I let the water works come.

Zoey's P.O.V.

I looked along the side of the street, trying to find a parking place, which was close to impossible on a Friday morning in New York. But I was in luck, there was a spot right in front of the Starbucks. I quickly parallel parked and ran inside the coffee shop. I was expecting a line, but there wasn't one. So I went right up to the counter and ordered a large peppermint mocha. I payed and went back out to my car. I shivered an wrapped my coat tighter around me as a big gust of wind blew by me. It had also started to snow. Great.

I got in my car and started driving to school. I noticed a big car crash on the side of the road, but it was snowing in New York, so seeing a couple cars smashed into one wasnt a new sight.

Once I got to school, I parked and headed inside. People smiled and nodded at me in the hallway, which wasnt new either. I got to my locker and grabbed my physics book and headed to class. My teacher was one of the only ones in the school who let you have coffee in the morning. As I was heading to class, I saw Nick leaning against some locker, talking to a girl. I shouldn't be jealous. He was moving on. That was good. Healthy. I sighed anyways. I still liked him, a lot in fact.

"Don't be the pathetic ex girlfriend" I whispered to myself. I straightened my back and walked right past them and into Miss Lori's room. She was in her late 20's. Everyone considered her their favorite teacher, even the ones who didn't have her. She would even go to the movies with students.

I set my stuff on my desk and took a seat. The rest of the class filed in and took their own seats. I stiffened as Nick walked in the room, still talking to that girl. I had never seen her before in my life.

Class started and Miss Lori started talking. "Ok guys. So, you may already know her, but this is Sarah. She moved here from California." Figures. She was blonde and tan. "I want you to all welcome her nicely." She continued with her lecture on Newtons 2nd law, then handed out a worksheet for homework. I put it in my folder then stood up to throw away my cup.

On my way back to my seat Sarah stopped me. "Hey. I'm Sarah." She smiled. Braces.

"I'm Zoey"

"Oh I know. I've heard a lot about you!" My stomach squirmed. I hope Nick didn't tell her that much. For all I knew he thought I was a huge bitch.

"Oh really? From who?" I asked curiously.

"Um, I can't remember her name. She has blonde hair, with a purple strip?"

"Ginny?" She nodded. Ginny was my ex best friend. And the reason me and Nick broke up.

"Yeah her! She was saying how nice you were to everyone and things like that. I was dying to meet you!

I smiled. She would say that. She'd been doing everything she could to to win back my friendship. I sighed.

"That's good to hear. Well where's you next class?" I asked, but grabbed her schedule to look at instead. "How weird. We have every single class together." I smiled

"That's great! I have every class with nick too!" She smiled even bigger. I frowned.

I went back to my desk and got my things. "I can show you around. " I said. If I became friends with her, she couldn't date Nick.

I showed her around the entire day. At the end of the day, when we were changing from gym, I asked her where she lived.

"In that one sub division. Something hallows?" She buttoned up her shirt.

"Breaking hallows?" I said

"Yeah! That one!" She smiled and put her shoes on.

"That's where I live too. Do you want a ride home?" I asked.

"No that's ok. Nicks going to give me a ride." She smiled again and I turned around. "What's your problem?" She asked. "Every time I say nicks name you turn around and get all sad"

I sighed. "Come over tonight and ill tell you the whole story. "

She nodded. "K. See you then. Text me your address. "

I nodded as well and headed out in the cold to my car. By the time I got home, there was almost 2 inches of snow. I parked in our 3 car garage and went inside I hung my keys on the hook.

"Hello? Jake you home?' I called out.

"Down here!" I heard him call from the basement.

"K. I'm going upstairs," I called back down, and went up to my room.

When we moved here 11 years ago I was so upset that I cried for days. Finally, my mom said "baby, you can pick whichever room you want in the new house. " my dad was skeptical, but my mom didn't care. She hated seeing her baby girl upset. So, I picked the master suit up on the 3rd floor. My dad was pissed. But they redid one of the other bedrooms to make it a master. My room was still the biggest. I put my backpack next to my desk and fell onto my bed. Then I got a text from Sarah. "Hey change of plans. I have to watch my little brother. Come over instead?" I texted back sure, and got her address. When I got there, I died inside. She lived right next door to Nick.
