you had been trying to figure out what Spencer wanted for his birthday all week. you couldn't figure it out, even after checking the gift shop on the beach where you had just finished your case. you went over to his desk, finally deciding to give up and ask him what he wanted. you knew you'd get a stupid answer, but it was the only choice.
"okay, i give up, spence. what do you want? and don't say 'nothing' again because i'm going to get you something if it kills me." you said, standing by spencer's desk. he looked up at you, his eyes finding yours.
