Chapter 2

Joseph was quiet for a moment. "You don't have to talk about it if you don't want to." Caesar said. Joseph shook his head, "No...it's fine, Caesar. I just....it was just a nightmare. I mean....yeah. I had a nightmare. I....nevermind." He sighed as he sniffled. Caesar patted Joseph's shoulder, "Jojo, you can talk about it to me. I know that I said that if you don't want to talkk you don't have to but it looks like its really bothering you." He wanted to get the other to talk. Seeing Joseph like this was absolutely heartbreaking. He wanted the other to let go of whatever was on his shoulders. The only way to do that is to get him to talk. "The rings....they broke. I tried to call your name but...nothing came out. Not a sound. I...know that the rings aren't there anymore since we've defeated the pillar men but I still have nightmares about them...It's really stupid, I know..." Caesar shook his head, "No. Itt's not stupid at all, Jojo. Its what you feared. I was afraid of losing you too. Afraid that we wouldn't make it in time. But I kept my hopes up. Look where we are now. You may have nightmares but you're safe. And I'm here for you." He said as he hugged the other. Joseph sighed softly in relief. He felt the w ight on his shoulders release, feeling safe in Caesar's arms. After a few minutes, Caessar backed away. "Are you ok now?" He asked, revieving a nod from Joseph. He got up, but stopped when Joseph grabbed his arm. "Please...could you please stay with me tonight?" Joseph begged. Caesar gave Joseph a warm smile before nodding. "Of course, Jojo." He answered, laying down next to Joseph. "I've got you. You're safe."Caesar whispered before the two fell asleep. Morning soon arrived. Joseph was snuggled up to Caesar, his head resting on Caesar's chest. Caesar was the first one to wake up. The memories of the night came in, causing him to look down at Joseph. He was sound asleep. Caesar sighed softly, relief flowing through him. He was hapy that the other was sleeping peacefully. Hopefully the other would be ok today. He knew that Joseph is pretty good at hiding things but he was hoping the other would open up more. Especially after what happened last night. Caesar looked over at the time. It was almost time for them to head to the dining room. Eventually Caesar had to wake Joseph up, which was difficult of course. But he didn't rush the other. He was nice to him and let the other take his time to get up. Joseph noticed this. He wondered if it was because of what happened. Well, it didn't really bother him so it was fine. "Are you ok?" Caesar asked. Joseph looked over to Caesar then nodded, "Yeah. I'm fine. Oh and um...thank you for last night." Joseph mumbled. Caesar smiled, "Of course, Jojo." He replied. Joseph was silent for a moment. "Just please forget about it and don''t talk about it to anyone." Joseph mumbled. Caesar understood the telling no one part but why did Joseph want him to forget about it? Well whatever the reason is, he'll respect it. "Alright. But if you ever need to talk, I''m here for you." Caesar said. Joseph only nodded before getting out of bed. Caesar sighed softly, following the other out of the room and into the dinning room. They both sat down and ate their breakfast, which was delicious. Suzie Q always made the best food. They thanked Suzie for the food before leaving and heading straight for the training field. On the way there, Caesar noticed that Joseph was out of it. Meaning that he wasn't really himself. He was quiet and dozing off as he walked. "Jojo, how are you feeling?" Caesar asked. "I'm fine, Cae. Just thinking." He replied. Caesar raised an eyebrow at the response. What would Joseph JJoestar be thinking about right now? Maybe reflecting on his feelings or maybe about what happened last night. "Caesar, how do you know that you have feelings for someone?" Wow, Caesar wasn't expecting that. He blinked a few times befoore clearing his throat, regaining focus. "Well, first you think about what you like about them and how they make you feel. Then, you decide whether these things are more towards the friendly side or the love side. You don't want to confuse your feelings of friendship and romance feelings. It normally happens to a lot of people. Does that make sense?" Joseph nodded, "Yes but I think I see them as more than a friend but I don't know. I'm pretty sure that I'm not confusing the feelings up but...argh! I don't know." He sighed softly. Caesar thought for a moment before speaking, "Alright fine. Let me help you. Tell me, what do you like about them?" "Well, one of the main reasons why I like them is....they're caring. They may not seem like it at first nor show it much but...when they do, you know that they've been caring since the beginning. Another reason why I like them is because they understand me...I may act like a fool sometimes but they can see under that. They know when I'm hiding something. They know when something is wrong. They also have really good looks and they're smart. They stop me from doing dumb things. They can be funny too but sometimes their humor can be harsh. Well not harsh but...you know what I mean. Oh and whenever I'm around them, I get this weird feeling in my stomach. Some people call it butterflies in their stomach or whatever. They just make me so happy." As Joseph talked, he smiled warmly. Caesar could tell that Joseph was into whoever this was. He was happy for Joseph but for some reason, he felt upset. Well, he knew the reason why. He was in love with Joseph. Yeah, Caesar flirted with many girls but that was only to get his mind off of Joseph. He wanted to get rid of those feelings. Caesar took a deep breath before smiling at Joseph. "Well Jojo, it does sound like you like this person. Even your facial expression says it." Caesar said. Joseph let out a quick deep sigh, "Well that's nice to know but the only problem is, they don't like me back. I know they don't. They only like me as a friend. You were right, no one would ever date me." He mumbled. Caesar gulped, shit he did say that. But he was only playing with him. "Joseph, I was only joking when I said that. I'm sure there's someone out there who likes you." Caesar quickly said. "Like who" Joseph asked. Caesar sighed softly as he stopped walking, causing Joseph to stop walking as well. "Well..."
