Darling

-Chapter Five-

You didn't want to be mad or upset with George. You wanted it to go back to how it was before all this happened. Well, maybe go back to while it was happening. You missed his forehead kisses and him putting his head in your shoulder. You confessed that you like him and kinda ruined the friendship.

"You know what?" You say to yourself. "I don't need a man to take me to the ball. I can go by myself."

In all the classes you have with George, you sat on the opposite side of the room from him. You felt it was a little awkward after what you said last night so you tried not to make eye contact.

Your mind trails off and you think about the ball. After all, that was all anyone was thinking about today. You don't really know how long your daydreaming for, but it's long enough that you have no idea what's happening in potions class.

"Miss (your last name)."

"Oh, uh" you sit up in your seat quickly. "Yes Professor?"

"How many grams of crushed snake fang did I say to put into your base?" He said, crossing his arms.

"I'm sorry Professor. I wasn't listening." You look down.

"Five points from Gryffindor for that, Miss (your last name)." He snarled. "Maybe if  stoped fantasizing and payed attention, you would know the answer."

"Mr. Westerfield. The answer?"

Jacob looked at you with a smirk. "Three grams, sir."

"Thank you." Said Snape. "It's good to know some of us are listening." He looked directly at you. "Five points to Slytherin."

Back in the common room, you and Angelina are getting ready for the ball. She offers to let you go with her and Fred. You accept and the two of you go and get your dresses on. When Angelina comes out of the bathroom with her dress on she looks stunning. The dress was a eggshell white. Not wedding dress white. It had little bits of sparkle on it. The colour suited her so well.
You get on your dress and when you come out her mouth drops.

"Oh my goodness, y/n! You look amazing! Lavender is totally your colour!" She exclaimed.

"Thank you. And you look great too, luv." You say. "Now let's go do our hair."

The both of you go to the mirror and grab your wands.
"Crinus Muto." The two of you say. Your hair gets a tad longer and slightly curls at the end. Angelina has hers put up in a tidy bun with the two front pieces of her hair still out and curled. She adds some hair accessories that make her look really fancy.
You both then do your makeup. Your eyeshadow is a very faint purple colour with your eyelashes long, dark and curled. You put on some blush and some lip gloss. Angelina goes with a subtle sparkle eyeshadow with a bit of mascara. You do her blush for her.
Once the two of you are ready, you sit on your beds and talk for a bit with the other girls in your dorm.

"So Caroline. Who are you going with?" Asked Angelina.

"I'm going with Izzy Green. She's a girl from Ravenclaw." she replied. "What about you y/n? Who are you going with since...ya know."

"Oh I'm gonna go with Angie and Fred." You say.

"Yeah... about that.." said Angelina.

There was a pause.

"What did you do....." you say, sounding concerned.

"You'll see." she said. "Plus it's time to head downstairs."
