Hogwarts...?

"Honey!" Grandma Joseline called.
"What, Grammy?" I said.
"I think it's time we talk. C'mere Re."
I came down the stairs and saw Grammy in her worst state yet: more than ten letters scattered around her, and she was sitting on the sofa in a distressed position.
She began to explain that my birth parents were wizards. She handed me one of the letters.
"I think this is for you, honey." She handed me one of the unopened letters. I tore open the envelope, worried but exited at the same time. I opened it so fast that I got a paper cut. It started forming a drop of blood at the tip of my finger, but I wiped it on my (luckily) red shirt and ignored it. My Grammy always said I was a trooper because when I was a child, I didn't notice when I was bleeding. The letter went something like this: Date 9/1/98
Dear Ms. Potter,
We would love to inform you of your expected attendance at Hogwarts School of
Witchcraft and Wizardry. You shall arrive at platform 9 3/4 at approx. 3:00 in
the afternoon on September 6.
Sincerely your Headmaster,
Albus Dumbledore

"Grammy, why is the date 17 years ago?"
"Who's Albus Dumbledore?"
"There's no such thing as magic or platform 9 3/4!"

"Honey, we received this letter from the adoption center we adopted you from 17 years ago. They told us you were special and that your birth parents gave you this letter and the adoption center told me to give it to you now. I have received another, uh, letter here somewhere,"
Grammy looked at the letters sprawled around her and sighed.
"That says that you will go to the school later than some children and they will decide what to do with you at the school."

I was shocked at how straightforward Grammy was, but I decided to not question it. I went to my room with the letter, which told me what to pack so I did. Luckily, there were few things on the list, and with such a small suitcase it would be easy for me. At the bottom of the letter it said, 'uniforms provided'. I wondered if they were ugly.

The next day, I checked if I had everything. A school bag, which I could use my suitcase for, some money, and any other school appropriate trinkets.
"Honey, come here!"
What could possibly be wrong now, Grammy?
I went downstairs to a yogurt parfait with oats and fresh fruit waiting for me. I scarfed it down immediately.
"Well, let's go!" Says Grammy.

She drove me to the train station then left me on my own.
"You're the Wizard here, not me."She had said.
Yeah, but I haven't ever been to this train station before, and I definitely don't know how to get to 'Platform 9 3/4'.
I saw another girl with a cart. She looked nice so I went towards her. She had bushy brown hair pulled back in a ponytail, and she was with two other people, two boys, one with fiery red hair and another with - wait - he had the exact same features as me! The same dark hair, bright blue eyes...but that scar - where have I seen it before? With only my bag, I walked over to the girl.
"Hey," I said shyly.
"Hello." She said, never taking her eyes away from in front of her.
"I'm Renee, uh, and this is my first year going to Hogwarts."
Her eyes snapped over to me and in a fraction of a second, she looked me over.
"Wow, you're older than most first-years. Where's you're supply?"
She turned to the boys behind her and she said, "She can sit in our car, can't she?"
The boys nodded, both turning their heads to look at me. They looked unimpressed, but still nodded.
"I'll teach you how to get to the Hogwarts Express."
"See the wall between platform 9 and 10?"
"Yeah,"
"Take my cart and give me your bag, then run at the wall at full speed."
"Ok?"
"You said you were a witch, right?"
"Yeah."
"It'll be fine."
So I did what she said and somehow, it worked. I waited for the other three to emerge out if the wall as I did, but I only had to wait a couple of seconds. The girl led me to their train car and we all got in. I put my luggage into the correct space and sat next to the girl. She introduced the trio as Harry, Hermione, and Ron. She described their past years at Hogwarts and wondered aloud what they were going to do with me at the school, until 'Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry' was in sight.
