Present Day
"Yaku!" You yelled from up the stairs.
"Yeah?!" Yaku yelled back.
"Can you help me with my schedule!" You asked.
"Yeah sure!"
"Stop yelling please." Your mother spoke.
"Sorry!" You yelled one last time.
Your mother rolled her eyes playfully as she continued to wash dishes in the kitchen. Yaku came trotting up the stairs. He saw you waiting there for him, he greeted you with a small smile.
"This doesn't make any sense, can you help?" You nervously chuckled.
"Yeah so..." Yaku explained to you the schedule.
"Thanks bro." You said.
He simply nodded heading back downstairs. When he reached the bottom, he turned around.
"You'll be with your super awesome big brother so you won't get lost, I can't tell you how lucky you are to have me. Not everyone gets their own escort y'know." Yaku spoke with a smirk.
"Yeah yeah I know" You chuckled.
"Good!" Yaku spoke, leaving you leaning over the stair railing.
Dinner time came around and you and your family sat at the table.
"Thank you for the food." You all said, digging into the delicious meal.
Your father spoke first, "so how are you feeling about going to high school?"
"I'm kinda nervous but I'm also excited!" You responded.
"I'm definitely excited." Yaku spoke from across the table.
"I just hope I can make friends..." You said looking down at your lap.
"Don't worry you'll make plenty." Your mother spoke.
"If you end up becoming friendless you can just be friends with our volleyball team." Yaku commented.
"Yaku, she won't be friendless." Your mother replied.
"Yeah no, every one's probably tall and scary." You said shivering at the thought of big, tall beefy men.
"They'd crush me, I'm pretty short for my age." You spoke frowning.
"We need a volleyball manager y'know." Yaku spoke.
"I think I'd crap my pants." You said deadpan.
Yaku chuckled, shaking his head.
"They're all friendly guys."
"You might meet your future boyfriend there." Your dad chimed in.
You furrowed your eyebrows at him.
"Yeah I sure hope not." Yaku said.
"They aren't good enough for my little sister." He spoke confidently.
"Eww please stop." You said embarrassed.
Yaku chuckled, pointing out how red your face was.
"School starts in a few days, do you have everything you need?" Your mother asked, changing the subject.
"Yep!" You replied.
She nodded, your family continued small conversations while eating. You lay in bed wondering about what your dad had said. You tried not to think about boys, but you were a hella straight teenage girl, you couldn't really help it.
