It was just a place to sleep for the night

He didn't care anymore. Jungkook had been out here for a year now. It's dark, it's cold, it's lonely, scary, it's what he feels as if he deserves. No one wanted him. That much had been proven after spending 18 years in an orphanage only to be told he couldn't stay the second he was no longer a financial benefit. He wasn't the only one, it happens all the time. But it was him. So for right now, tucked in an abandoned warehouse near some shipyard, surrounded by metal that creaks with every gust of wind and concrete that reeks of a decades worth of water damage.. He just didn't care.

Jungkook was by no means suicidal. He dreamed of happiness even if he didn't exactly know what that was. He had made it through school with straight C's so he wasn't completely incompetent. But he is still alone left to beg for change in hopes of a meal and spending every night afraid of when things will inevitably get worse. "Hell. At least if I get arrested I get a bed right?", Jungkook says out loud with a dramatic sigh. He didn't know. He's somehow avoided trouble while on the streets thus far. The hobo in a dumpster that demanded he get out of his box that one time doesn't count. He was just walking by and the guy jumped up yelling. Thankfully his mind chose flight most of the time.

Jungkook sprung to life from a restless sleep to.. a scream? Nah. That's just your head man. You've been alone for too long and your mind is losing its grasp. Voices. Okay.. Not hearing things. They're pretty close, possibly in the same building. His legs are moving before he even takes a chance to decide if he actually wants to be curious quickly but as quiet as he can making his way up some rusted metal stairs just hoping up here he won't be seen but can figure out what the fuss is in his bedroom of the night.

The moonlight seeps through the holes in the barely standing roof casting just enough light for him to make his way around the strange catwalks for a better view of.. what was that 2 people? Jungkook managed to get pretty close to being right above the scene taking place quickly realizing he should have just run out of the door he had been sleeping right next to. There's a man dressed in all black but stealth seems pointless if you're gonna have mint green hair. He's got blood on his hands, most likely blood that belongs to the other man who's expensive looking suit is being wrinkled more by the second by the ropes keeping him seated in place. This is not some petty robbery if Jungkook ever paid any attention to all the crime shows at the orphanage. He can't make out what all is being said but gathers that Mr. Mint is looking for info from Monkey Suit. He snickers at the names he's given them teeth just barely peeking through his lips as he watches on. Monkey Suit keeps saying they will never get to the Boss.. whoever that is.

Finally Mr. Mint looks ahead of his hostage and it almost seems like he's waiting on instructions. Jungkook blinks and now Mr. Mint has knocked the guy tied to a chair onto his back, straddling him and punching him repeatedly so hard that it's like he's just trying to punch through the concrete underneath Monkey Suits' face, the human simply being caught in between. After what was probably only a minute but felt like a full hour Mr. Mint stops punching and Jungkooks' stomach ties in knots at the look on the man's face as he pulls a large knife from his side placing it horizontally on Monkey Suits throat. Mr. Mint is smiling like the Cheshire cat, nearly giggling as he simply says "Annyeong", slicing fast and deep. At the same moment that Jungkook sees blood spit onto Mr. Mint's maniacal face he feels the need to turn around. In that instant the moonlight was gone. Darkness. Fear. Nothing.
