But the movie isn’t funny at all, not to Rayna. The humans around them keep laughing, but nothing on the big TV has been humorous at all. There’s a man sitting in the row behind them who passed gas rather loudly, and Rayna found that hilarious. Emma had to accompany her out of the theater when she couldn’t stop laughing. Apparently laughing at such things is not proper human etiquette.
So if I’m going to act more human, I need to laugh at things that aren’t funny and practically starve myself at every meal.
“Emma,” Rayna says after she’s gained her composure. “Is this all humans do for fun?”Emma looks at her thoughtfully. “I guess this is a ‘normal’ human date. But there are other things we can do. I’ll look it up on the computer when we get home. There’s got to be something you like doing. We’ll get creative.”
Rayna nods. “Yeah. Because this? It’s stupid.”
