Louis peeled open his eyes to see an angry looking king looking at him. To someone of working class that would sound rather odd but to Louis it was a typical day for him. Being the prince of England, it was expected of him to grow up with good habits to then later on marry a princess and become king. But no, Louis had to be different. He certainly did not have good habits, he often stayed up until the early hours of the morning listening to bands that his parents didn't approve of at all, he had no interest in girls and was in fact gay, and he had no interest in ruling a country at all.
"Get up little boy." His father said sternly, crossing his arms and furrowing his eyebrows. Louis dragged himself to his feet, realising he had slept without a shirt on, exposing his tattoos which his parents again didn't approve of. "Why exactly is this in your room?"
His father gestured to the empty bottle of vodka tossed carelessly on his sofa next to Louis' headphones which were still plugged into his iPod, waiting for a decent response. Louis had only 2 hours sleep last night, spending the rest of it drinking away the thought of what was to come today.
"I'm sorry father. I just- I- oh I don't know why it's here do I?" He knew that he was in deep shit already so why should he make up some dumb excuse? Today was the worst day of his life, he had to choose a date to his 17th birthday party who was a potential wife! How someone would know who they truly loved at this age was beyond Louis' thoughts, if only his parents knew the truth about him. Or maybe they shouldn't. Maybe he should just marry a girl and be king and go along with the perfect story book life every royal has gone through or should he say has been forced into. Why someone would want to live like this is stupid when you could live a normal life, being accepted for the most part.
But he really doesn't know. He hasn't left the house before without what seems like hundreds of bodyguards and huge flashing cameras around him. The only way he gets the alcohol and music is through his childhood friend Liam who has been getting him it in exchange for money for a flat that he rents a few miles from the palace, he's the only normal person he's ever spoke to.
"I'm not standing for this anymore Louis. If you can't keep yourself stable so early in your life how will you run the country in future? I'll leave and let you get dressed for now. Come down for breakfast as soon as possible." His father concluded. What if Louis didn't want to run a country? Again he was being told how he must live his life.
"Father," Louis whispered, making the man turn back to him, "don't tell mother. Please."
The man gave him a nod and left, the door closing behind him silently.
