Bullet fire zinged over his head.

God I was dumb. Phillip, SPARTAN D025, thought. It had started as a normal capture the flag game, Team Prowler was on the attack along with Teams Leopard and Spyder. The flag was sitting on top of a concrete bunker held by two dozen DI's and the LC. "Stun rounds only, I promise." He had said earlier that day before the game started.

Yea. Right.

Turns out, they had been issued stun rounds, for use against the other teams and to attack the bunker, but the defenders had live rounds, for use against them.

"Flash-bangs on three!" Phillip yelled, and Josh and Min primed their grenades, counted, and hurled their grenades towards the bunker. Hopefully, that would buy them enough time to get out of there. "Everyone break for the tree line! NOW!" Phillip yelled over the TEAMCOM at his other teammates. All five SPARTAN-III's ran for the trees, and made it. "All right, Jake, grab your sniper and find us a place to camp for a minute."

"Already on it, there's a cave about twenty meters to your right, gives us a perfect overview of the bunker." Jake replied.

"All right Spartans, head for that cave, carefully, we don't want to run into any of the chiefs surprises. Min, take point, Josh, you and Jake follow, me and Eric will watch our six." Phillip barked over the TEAMCOM. The five Spartans spread out into a loose V formation and headed towards the cave, their SPI armor blending into the forest around them.Ten minuets later, Team Prowler arrived and set up a temporary camp.
"All right, Jake watch the bunker, the rest of us will try to find a way to get the flag." Phillip said. Jake picked up his rifle and crouched down near the entrance. The rest of the team took their helmets off and gathered in a circle while Eric drew a picture of the bunker and the surrounding forest.
"Here we are," Eric explained, drawing an X in the dirt, a little to the northeast of the bunker, "and this is where we last ran into Team Spyder," he drew another X in the dirt. "We haven't been able to find Leopard, so we might have to be careful not to run into them whenever we aren't expecting them when we go for the flag."
Phillip quietly assessed his team. Eric, SPARTAN D107, was the fastest Spartan in Delta Company. No one could catch him if he didn't want them to. Most DI's jokingly said that he was distantly related to Kelly, the fastest person to ever come through the Spartan program. Jake, SPARTAN D094, was the best marksmen in Delta Company. The DI's said he was almost as good as Linda. Min, SPARTAN D239, was the team's stealth expert. Many times Min had saved them by and screwing up the opposing teams ambushes by slipping up behind them. Joshua, SPARTAN D182, was the explosives expert on the team. He seemed to have a magical ability to disarm any explosive in the blink of an eye, but his temper was just like a grenade, and he blew up frequently. But Phillip wouldn't trade him for anybody, this team had grown up together through the SPARTAN-III program as the top team. "Let's see if we can get the other teams," Phillip said.

"This is Team Prowler calling teams Spyder and Leopard, can anyone here me?" Phillip called out over all COM channels.

"This is Spyder calling Prowler." Misty, leader of team Spyder called.

"What about Leopard? Have you heard from them?" Phillip asked.

"We're here, we were trying to get the flag." Team Leopard answered.

"Jake," Phillip said over the COM, "is it true?"

"Negative on that," he answered, "the bunker has been quiet for the past ten minutes."

I won't say anything right now, Phillip thought, I'll wait till later and get her back. "All right, there's no way we can take the bunker one team at a time, we're going to have to work together to get the flag. Okay?"
