One: She Who's Moving On

Chapter One

Five years after...

Dara could only massaged her temple as the sudden news brought by her Secretary reached her knowledge.

"Ma'am, are you okay? Do you want me to cancel all of your appointments for today so that you could take a rest?", her Secretary asked with full concern.

Dara looked up at Gummy, and gave her a small smile.

"I'm fine Gummy-ah", she told her. "You don't have to worry about me. But sure thing do cancel my appointments, I need to talk to grandpa first regarding this matter".

Gummy nods as she did what her boss told her. She immediately bid goodbye to took care of the task that had been given to her just now.

Just when Gummy was finally out, Dara heaved a deep sigh and started thinking of the possibilities of why does her grandfather did such decision.

"Grandpa, what is it this time?", she mumbled to herself as she rose up from her sit, looking for her phone.

Once she took a hold of it, she immediately dialled the number of the man who was behind all of this.

But then to her dismay, she couldn't contact him. Seemed like the old man intentionally turned off his phone for he knew that she'd called him once she learned about her grandfather's decision.

She frustratingly placed back her phone to her table and leaned back to her swivel chair.

She then once again massaged her temple while she thought of the news she just heard earlier.

Her grandfather, the powerful business tycoon, Park Yoo Sik was planning to stepped down from his position as the C.E.O of his chains of companies.

You see, PYS Group of Companies, was the largest and most successful chain of companies in the whole South Korea and one of the biggest and richest in the whole Asia.

Their company specializes in different fields, medicine, entertainment, education and music industry.

And over the years, her grandfather was the one who managed it. He's the man behind the success of PYS, but the man was not getting any younger, he's in early 80s now and what he needed as of the moment was a successor. But then again he didn't chose one among any of his childrens, because of different reasons.

His eldest, which was Dara's father, died early due to an accident together with his wife, leaving Dara as an orphan at the very young age of seven. Her grandfather was the one who took care of her.

His second son on the other hand, never showed interest in their company. The man wanted to earn on his own and create his own legacy, without the help of his family.

And the youngest, her uncle Park Jin Young was a greedy and selfish man, wanting everything for himself. So the old man never ever gave his trust to that son of him, for he knew it would only lead to the company's downfall.

And so the old man decided to choose his grandchildren as his successors.

Teddy, her second uncle's eldest son was the one who was assigned to took over the PSY Entertainment, the one who focused in music and entertainment industry.

Teddy's brother, Seo Joon was the one who'll manage Amethyst High, their very own prestigious school.

Then Jisoo, the only daughter of Jin Young, will took over their chain of hospitals and pharmaceuticals.

And Dara, being the eldest one among his grandchildren, would took over the whole PYS over her hands, specially their main business which was furnitures and textiles.

But Dara didn't like the idea, she didn't want that.

You see, Dara, as of now, owned a clothing brand under her name, that's what she wanted in the first place. She wanted to pursue fashion, and now, she'd already created a name in such industry. Aside from being a well-known designer and businesswoman, she's a model and fashion icon too, specially in Europe where she chose to base.

So the sudden news of taking over PYS Group of Companies was really stressing her out. Sure she'd agreed about it when her grandfather told it to her, but then that was seven or eight years ago, and she's only a mere student back then, she's competent that time and sure that she could do that.

But today's a different story, she already had her own company, and she had a life of her own. How the hell would she'd be able handle everything? How would she'd be able to manage such companies?

But then that's not her main problem in the first place. PYS Group of Companies was base in Seoul, South Korea, and if she'd took over the company, then that means only one thing. She needed to go back to that place, and God knows how much she hated to go back there.

That place was full of worst memories for her. That is where her parents died. Both of them died in a car accident, and even now, the pain of losing both of them was still lingering in her heart, she's still hurting.

She also experienced there her biggest heartbreak, that place witnessed how her heart shattered into pieces.

And going back to that place seemed to much for her to bare. She had too much of pain from there ,and to her, the place was suffocating. Like being there would kill her, not physically, but surely, emotionally.

She don't want to remember any of her painful past. She had enough of them, and she don't want to go back to that heart breaking series of events. She's already moving on.

Heck, those five years of staying in Paris wasn't still enough for her to be fully healed, there was still a fresh part of the wound in her heart, and just when it's slowly healing, this thing happened.

She's frustrated right now, she felt betrayed. Her grandfather knew how much she hated to went back to that place, but why do he still forced her to took over their company?

Why not passed it to Teddy instead? That cousin of her was a very smart and hardworking guy, he would surely do well in managing the company.

Or if Teddy refused, then why not Seo Joon? He's an intelligent person, and a business minded one.

Why does it have to be her? Yes, she's the eldest grandchild, but she don't think she could handle the responsibility. Not when an emotional pain was being triggered inside her, no, she can't, she just couldn't.

Not now, maybe some other day but not now. She's not yet ready.

She still needed a short time to be fully healed.

Sure she had already start anew, she graduated with flying colors, she had pursued her passion and was doing great with it, she had her own company that was successful and continuing to gain popularity and she'd living the life that she only dreamed of before.

But her inner self wasn't still ready, the inner Dara still needed time for herself. The things she had now maybe enough, but the healing she'd been wanting ever since she left that place wasn't still in her hands. She needed to have those before she goes back.

She needed that healing to bring herself back which she had lost five years ago. She needed that healing to fully moved forward and continue her life.

She picked her phone once again and typed a message for her grandfather.

"I'm not yet ready grandpa, give me enough time. Three months, just three months and I'd gladly take over the company"
