Chapter 2

Cleo's pov
By the time I had caught up to addison she had met another girl who I learned was named bree "so cleo you trying out for the cheer squad?" Bree asked and I shoke my head no "can't do it, I have stage fright and could never get up in front of the crowd" I admit. Just then the z-alarm goes off and while bree and addison ran like everyone else I calmly walked to the zombie safe room and went inside shutting the door behind me as I hear something get nocked over "hello who's there?" I called out "why hello" a male voice says "don't even think about it dude I can and will fight you with a stick if I have to" i say. The guy chuckled a little "sorry it's just this isn't how I expected my first day at a new school to go" he says "you didn't expect to end up in a zombies safe room?" I asked as we walked closer to each other "oh no that I expected, it happens to me all the time it's kinda my thing" he joked making me giggle. Why do I feel nervous all of a sudden "I'm actually gonna tryout for the football team but my dad doesn't think I can do it" he says "of course you can you just gotta prove it, I know we don't really know each other but I'd come to every game if you make the team so you will always have one person cheering you on" I say. As we got to where we where standing front of each other the lights had come back on "wow" I say quietly as I saw the same zombie boy I saw this morning "anyway I'm zed by the way" he says "my names cleo" I say. I felt my heart beat hard as I looked into his eyes "your not like other humans, most of them would've screamed and ran but not you your different, I like that" he says with the cutest smile on his face. I smiled back at him as after a few more minutes of talking we finally leave and parted ways after saying goodbye "hey there you are, great news me and bree made the cheer squad!" Addison says happily as I met up with her and bree by the entrance. I am so happy for the both of them "that's amazing you guys congratulations" I says but eventually I was alone again and I sigh "I just wish I could be more confident and show them all who I really am" I says

As I was walking I saw Bucky speed past in his van out of zombie town and a couple minutes later addison and bree walked out of zombie town as well and I just hid in the bushes till they went last then went the way they came from to see what happened. I had by this point taken off the wig and taken out the contact lenses and after looking around I saw a carton of eggs by the zombies house os I picked it up and put 2 & 2 together "I can't believe they would do something like this" I say as I finally went home taking the eggs with me. What I didn't see was that someone had seen me and he smiled realizing what I had done and he knew who I was at that moment.
