Sunyeon had a guilty look on his face. "I'm sorry. I just don't want to lose you. The prince is just perfect and I'm afraid you might like him more than me," the boy explained. I sighed deeply. I can't be mad at this boy but I am disappointed. "I will never leave you. You are my best friend, remember. The prince would never take your place."
"But he even came to give you the invitation." I rolled my eyes. "He gave it to me because he saw you hid it. He never saw us before so he probably want all of us to go to the party." I think that's a good reason. "Please just stay home with me." I sighed. "I am really not interested in the prince but I want to go to that party. There will be food we've never had before." I looked at Sunyeon with pleading eyes. "Let's make a game of it. 'Avoid the prince'!" I tried again. "Fine. But I swear, if the prince dares to talk to you I will pull you away and we'll go home." Sunyeon gave in. I jumped in joy. "Let's find the perfect dress for you." My eyes were sparkling. I know it's wrong to steal but I just enjoy those moments.
We got off of the roof and slowly opened the gate. Trying to not make a single sound, we closed the gate again and ran to the city next to our village. It's a 30 minutes walk so if we keep running we might be there soon. The city is the same direction of the palace. The king never went further than that city.
We arrived at the huge gates of the city. It was guarded pretty well but not better than the palace. We climbed over the enclosure. There were to many guards next to the gate so we went a bit further, using the enclosure as our road. We decide to go to Giseok's store. He sells beautiful dresses and suits. It was near the edge of the city so we didn't had to much to risk.
We jumped off of the enclosure and made our way towards the store. It was pretty easy to sneak in since in the city the people aren't like us. They trust each other a bit too much but that's fine. If something is stolen you could be sure that it was someone from another city.
I walked through the store. The dresses were really pretty. Even though it was dark I could clearly see what they looked like. My eyes were already used to see in the dark. "What do you think about this one?" I heard Sunyeon whispering. I walked up to him and checked the dress. It was perfect. "I'll take it." I said and helped him finding a new suit.
We finally found the perfect suit and were about to exit the store when suddenly the lights turned on. Shocked we looked at eachother. When we finally realised what was happening we got out of the store and ran towards the enclosure. I heard Giseok following us and yelling. Many citizens turned on their lights and took a look out of their window. Most of them got out as well and tried to catch us.
Sunyeon grabbed my hand and pulled me around a corner. He had taken a way that was leading further into the city. He pulled me behind a huge trash can. I heard the citizen running past us while yelling. When we couldn't hear them anymore we got out of the small hiding spot and ran the opposite way. We got over the enclosure and high-fived when we were sure we're save.
"That was a close one," I stated and received a chuckle from Sunyeon. "We have to be really careful when we bring these back," Sunyeon said and I nodded. "Like really careful. They will keep an eye on the store for sure," I said and we both made our way back home.
