School Year at Dad's

Chapter 1: Airport

Authors note: this has not been edited. This chapter is also dedicated to my friend Lesleigh. Her dad got in a car accident, and I hope he'll be okay.

"Nat lets go honey you'll be late for boarding." Mother screamed from downstairs

" I'm coming just give me a second." I said

I was texting Kat first then Dad, Kats my best friend known her since middle school we do everything together. I was texting Dad about how we're leaving for the airport right now.

" I coming"

" let's go honey"

In the car mother was making small talk. She was talking about work, she has a day time job. She works at the office of Mr. Maxwell a big time business man. Her true passion is art. She spend hours on end working in there, on her masterpieces. I know I'm her daughter and I would say her arts good whether it really is or not. But my mother is pretty amazing.the story on how my parents broke up is pretty simple. They didn't fight or anything, they just didn't have that spark that they had when they started that relationship. Slowly and over time my parents drifted apart. My father was a journalist, he came to Oregon because of article he would do on politics. He thought "since I'm going to be here for a while, why not just move here?". So he moved to a beautiful house in Oregon. He went to the book store one day and meet my mother. They went out on a date and were married within 8 months. After my parents drifted apart, my father had respect for my mother (he still loved her, just not in the relationship kind of way.) so he let her keep the house. He wanted to move to where it was warm so he moved to Sunrise Florida (about an hour from Fort Lauderdale Beach). He became an English professor at The University of Fort Lauderdale. He has a girlfriend, Diana, She has twins, there my age. Anyways I'm going to meet them all once i get there.

Mom stops the car and I notice we're already at the airport.

"Here I'll help with your luggage sweetie"

"Thanks mom"

We walk up to the desk, there is a lady typing there.

"What can i help you with she asks

I'm about to speak when my mother says, "The flight to Miami, that is scheduled at 9:00correct?"

"Yes ma'am it is" the lady replies

"Thanks I say back

"What time is it Nat?" Mom says

"8:50" I reply

We start walking to the sitting area when a cafe catches my eye.

"Mom I gonna get me a coffee, do you want anything?" I ask

" A blueberry bagel, strawberry cream cheese, and A decaf caramel mocha frappé."

"What? Oh mom just come with me, it's easier."

We walk to the cafe and order moms then mine in one ticket.

"Add one more of thoses blueberry bagels and strawberry cream cheese, with a vanilla frappe please." I order

After we order we sit and start our small breakfast

"Are you excited about going to your dads?" Mom asks

"Very! I'm excited to see dad. Then also meeting Diana and her kids. Having my birthday there. And going to school there should be fun. Don't worry I'll keep you updated."

"Good I wanna know about Diana, she's really nice isn't she?"

"Well every time I've facetimed dad and she was there with him,she seemed really nice."

"Good, but the point is I just want you to be happy and so does your dad, and I know you know that already. But your very important to your dad, so if you don't like Diana just about one little thing. You know your dad will break up with her. But Diana seems really nice, kind, and caring. I knows that she truly cares about your father. Just make sure to keep me updated with how things are going there, Ok?"

"Ok mom you know I will."

Over the intercom we hear 'the flight to Miami is now boarding, I repeat the flight to Miami is now boarding."

"Well honey I love you." Mom says as she walks over to me to give me a hug and kiss.

"I love you too mom."

"Call me when your flight lands ok?"

"Ok mom I will."

"Be sure just to call me everyday or at least every now and then, ok?"

"Ok mom I will."

"Be safe and I love you honey." She says as she gives me one last final huge hug

"I love you too mom, bye."

"Bye honey."

I wave to my mom one last time as I turn around and walk towards the entrance of the airplane.

"Ticket please." The lady asks

"Here ya go" she looks at the ticket then gives it back.

"There ha go, have a wonderful flight."

"Thank you" I say as I walk into the plane. I find my seat and sit down.

"Here we go" I say quietly to myself as the plane takes off.

I'm seated in between two boys, two veery cute boys might I add. I probably don't look attractive right now as I dig my nails into the arm rests. Did I meation that I hate takeoff? I know right like after years and years of flight you would think I've gotten used to it. But nope still terrifies me to this day.

"Are you ok?" A voice beside me asks. I turn and seen a boy with brown hair and kind brown eyes. Staring at me with a bit of worry

"I'm fine I just don't like the takeoff part of flight." Which I glad is over I quietly add

"I don't like it either, I'm ...

Authors Note: cliff hanger.. Gosh I hate it with a passion when authors do this to me but here you go. So that boy on the plane, I need a name from him, and what character he should play as, you know like what celebrity. I also need this for the following characters: Natalie, Mark (Natalie's dad), Georgia Rose or Rose (Natalie's mom), Diana (Marks gf), Jack (Diana's ex husband, father of twins), Mr. Maxwell (Roses Boss), And Diana's kid the twins. The twins I was hoping for a boy and girl, identical or not I don't care, it probably easier just to give me a boy and a girl celebrity and I'll pretend they're twins. I also need character names for them, who they'll play in the book.
