Being the newbie at school was really hard, but moving to another part of the world from a culture that is very different from you was even harder. Getting off that plan I realised fully that this is where I will be for god knows how long, as I reached the outside of the airport, I saw a really familiar face in the crowd with my name on a banner, "GRANNY", she never really like me calling her halmoni, I've never known why even now. She took me to what I will be calling home from now on and honestly it looked amazing, it looks so cosy. So after a while I had a catch up with her and ended up going to bed early since it was a really long day.
Walking through the school gates for the first time with people staring at you like you were an alien was not comforting at all, it made me even more anxious about my new classmates. When I was done being at the office getting my new timetable and a map of the school, I was shown the way to my classroom by the principle which was a nice feeling, I felt very welcomed.
Once I got to the class it was just about to start when I walked through the door with the principle, the whole class fell silent and it was really awkward. I just stood there really awkwardly and honestly, I felt my cheek go red and I couldn't look up at my classmates. I was in my own thoughts when I heard the teacher start to talk, "everyone please welcome Y/N to our class, please be nice and welcoming, please Y/N take a seat", I looked up bowed to my teacher then my classmates and found a seat at the window 3 rows up. I love having the window seat, I love looking out to see what beauty the world has.
<After school>
After school was done, I was finally able to look at my classmates, everyone having their own friends and having laughs ang giggles about stuff from the day before and honestly, they all looked like nice people which I was really happy about. I was caught off guard with someone walking up to me and introducing herself, "hi I'm Lia, nice to meet you", she smiled at me with her hand held out for me to shake. I got up from my seat to introduce myself to her "hi, I'm Y/N, nice to meet you to" and I shook her hand with a smile, after that she asked me to join her and her friends so that they can meet me to. They all smiled and waved and gave me their names, "hi, I'm Yeji", "I'm Ryujin", "I'm Chaeryeong", Lia then turned to me and told me that they also have Yuna but she's in a different year from them. Just then we all heard a loud voice coming from the hallway "UNNIES", I'm guessing that's Yuna, "oh hi, I'm Yuna, your new aren't you?", I nodded and introduced myself to her.
After that we all left the school just chatting away like I've known them for ages, then when we all got to the school gate, we said our goodbyes, luckily Lia lived near me so we walked home together. We just chatted about classmates, who I shouldnt be friends with and whos popular or not, the usual stuff. After that we parted ways just a few blocks away from my house and said goodbye to each other.
I was walking home when I saw someone sitting on a bench all alone just up ahead, it was starting to get dark since it takes a while for me to go home (ok I got a little lost), but I didn't really think much of it till I got closer. It was a boy and by the uniform I knew he went to my school, he looked to be around my age so I wasn't too scared, so I walked past him but as I walked past him, I heard little sniffles, was he crying? I turned around and looked at him, should I help him? Ask him what's wrong? What do I do? All of these thoughts entered my brain. So, I took the courage to sit down next to him, was it a bad idea? Probably, but you never know. He was still crying even though I had sat down next to him, so I took in a deep breath and turned to him "errm ... are you ok?" he slightly turned his heard to look at me then stood up from the bench and took off walking in the opposite direction as me. I got shocked when he done that, I only wanted to help him, he looked really upset from what I can tell even though I couldn't really see his face, oh well I can't catch him now, I hope that he will get better, maybe I will see him in school tomorrow.
I got home and threw all of my stuff in my room and for the rest of the night I did homework and watched some YouTube videos I had missed from being in school.
