When Maika got to Cold Stone she didn't know what to expect. Sure she had doubts in her mind about him being a serial killer or a kidnapper yet overly estastic to meet him for the first time.

Her anticipation knew no bounds as she barely slept the night prior. Nothing mattered expect meeting the boy who liked her for her.

In her previous years she had faced depression from getting bullied for her name or cultural heritage.

Now here was a guy who(she hoped) gave no damn.

She sat down on the barstools against the counter while bringing out her phone to message Callum.

Are you here yet?

Almost there.

I'm in front of the counter. Come quickly I can't wait to see you.

Me neither.

It was roughly three minutes before she felt a presence behind her. With goosebumps raising on her arms and neck, she turned around.

"Maika?"

He wasn't lying, she thought, he really is ripped and handsome.

She stared at him for God knows how long before getting her bearing together and stretching her hand for a shake with a small smile.

"Hello Callum."

He looked at her hand strangely with a smirk then pulled her into a hug.

She gasped in surprise then rose up on her tippy toes and hugged him back rubbing her face against his collarbone while breathing in his spectacular cologne.

"So you're really here in person?" She said excitedly holding his hand in hers when they broke their hug.

"That I am. You look nice." And she really did, he thought. She was spotting on a summer gown with thin straps and white sandals which graced her slender feet. She was a little bit shorter than he expected but she had the cutest dimple. And when he was hugging her her wild curly hair smelled like strawberries.

"I better the hell do cause it looks like you're overshadowing me here. Looking like sex on sticks."

He gives a hearty laughter.

"I told you so."

"Arrogant bastard." She said jokingly.

He laughed again.

"Let's go seat on a more quiet table" Callum suggested.

They moved from the counter and went to sit in a booth.

"So..."

"Uh-uh don't tell me we're already having conversation stalls."

Callum laughs. "Not at all."

"Good." Maika sighs in relief.

The waiter came over and they ordered different ice cream flavours with matching pastries. While waiting for their order, Callum reached over and enclosed her hands in his.

"How've you been?"

"Pretty much decent. How bout you?"

"Same."

Maika softened her tone. "Did you talk to your parents yet?"

"They'd be back Saturday." Callum rubbed his neck. "So until then.."

Maika squeezed his hands in comfort.

The waiter quickly brought their meal and they carried their conversation forward.

"Will you be my girlfriend?" Callum suddenly asked with a serious expression.

She spluttered out her ice cream.

After she had wiped her hands and mouth off, she responded.

"What? We haven't even said the," she lowered her voice in a whisper. "The L word."

"We'll cross that bridge when we get there. For now I enjoy being with you and very much like you."

Maika remained silent processing his words.

He brought out his phone and seconds later she heard a ding in her phone. Callum had sent her a text.

[12/25, 2:33 PM] Thereal_Callum: Hello.

Maika snickered remembering how their first conversation went.

[12/25, 2:33 PM] Arianaisbae🧖🏾‍: Hi.

[12/25, 2:34 PM] Thereal_Callum: So will you be my girlfriend?

[12/25, 2:34 PM] Arianaisbae🧖🏾‍: Yes.

[12/25, 2:35 PM] Thereal_Callum: Yes?

She looked up at him, smiled then nodded in affirmation.

[12/25, 2:36 PM] Arianaisbae🧖🏾‍: Yes.

He tipped up his spoon in the air in a cheers manner. "Merry Christmas."

Maika sighs happily returning the gesture. "Merry Christmas."

And they shared a kiss.
