Welcome to Perfecticity.
In which your soulmate is assigned at birth, often someone in the same age range as you. At the age of 16, you are able to get your soulmate certificate, in which it says your soulmates name. With each year you fail to find them, a new fact gets added, such as favorite color, location, friend group, etc.
While this is a soulmate au, it's not very heavily based around it. The soulmate au part really only becomes important in the last few chapters.
If you have read some of my other fics, you expect me to write in past 3rd person. This fic is purely 1st person alternating through past and present tense. It sounds complicated, but I promise it's simple. The chapter length is anywhere from 2.5k to 3.5k words, averaging 3k words as that is my goal.
This book will have TWO endings. Yes, two. One happy ending and one sad ending. I will not spoil which ending is canon, but I will write the alternate endings. (For ex, chapter 12 I'll put a note to skip to chapter _ for the alternate ending)
