Y/N looked out the window of the APC he was in, he could see only the stone on the wall and the few branching tunnels that led to diffrent parts of vale, currently he was en route to mount Glenn to see the new base, riding in a small convoy of 3 APCs and two Makos, the convoy was also transporting a small shipment of dust to the new base.
Y/N looked across the passenger cabin to see Neo staring at him
Y/N- is something wrong?
Neo- you really plan to take over Vale?
Y/N- no, my eyes are set on the whole of Remnant.
There was a brief silence
Neo- why
Y/N- I'm tired of watching this world slowly wither away, it's time to make it thrive
Neo- but war will only bring more grimm
Y/N- true, however in time, people will recover and fight back, with the military presence and the new defenses the world will hold
Neo- you mean the parts of the world that you control
Y/N-*smiles slightly* is that so bad?
Neo- *sighs* what are we going to do about Minagerie?
Y/N- I sent Liz to talk to the Chief, and to the white fang leadership, with any luck we'll be able to strike a deal with them
Neo- and if we don't?
Y/N-*looks back out the window* then blood will likely be spilled.
The ride was quiet after that. Once they arrived at the base Y/N got out quickly and saw that the once decrepit city had been transformed into a segmented base, with a few factories making the grunts, as he walked he could see several holes, Miley being mined out to be made into entrances for yet further lower levels.
Y/N walked past the old rail line that now served as a road way, while the train would've even faster, it was much safer to use vehicles as if one were taken, the others could destroy it, where as if one train was taken, the damage could be immense, such as during the Breach incident.
The road way above the cavern that covered it was held up by a few dozen new supports, that each could be detonated if the need were to arise. Y/N could also see Grunt squads patrolling around for any intruders or unauthorized personnel. He quickly moved to one of the supports and entered it, the interior holding an elevator to the surface that he and Neo quickly took
Neo- I'm surprised at how quickly you managed to get all this built
Y/N- some of it had started just after my fleet moved in, but it didn't take too long, most of the materials came from the buildings that had been demolished here
Neo- I see
On the surface was an airfield, that held a few of Y/N's ships that were refueling and rotating crew, along with several planes of new design. (Think a C-5 Galaxy with a more STAG design to it painted black and purple).
Neo- holy shit is that-
Y/N- transport planes, mhmm.
Neo- their huge!!
Y/N- of course they are, come on.
Y/N quickly walked towards the surface head quarters with Neo in toe the guards out front saluted him as he and Neo entered, they quickly made their way to the meeting room passing by the recreational room, hearing snippets of a news report about Atlas, that allegedly the kingdom had fractured with political parties fighting over control.
Once they arrived Y/N connected his scroll to the table's display starting a call with Shaundi Gat and Kenzie.
Y/N- how are things?
Shaundi- Mistral is being difficult, they don't like the fact we occupied Vale and have made threats of invasion if we don't leave.
Y/N- remind them that their economy wouldn't be able to sustain that drastic of a change, nor would the people stand for it seeing the reconstruction, put more commercials on screens showing reconstruction efforts and defenses, I want their people to see the good we do.
Gat- well we've got a bits and pieces out of Atlas. And it's not looking great.
Y/N- give me a full rundown later then.
Kenzie- Vacuo has agreed to trade with us, if we send support to secure their towns and cities from grimm and bandits, sounds like their huntsmen and huntresses aren't cutting it any more with the unease of the population.
Y/N- I see...send the Eighth expedition force
Kenzie- are you sure?
Y/N- yes.
The call ended quickly afterwards before Y/N called Walker.
Walker- yeah?
Y/N- how are things?
Walker- calm, mostly, we've gotten some criticism of the actions you took in Vale, there's been more Grimm attacks, but strangely their attacking area of the wall closest to the Grimm dragon, I think it's attracting them.
Y/N- I see... what about the villages?
Walker- we've started a rail line along with shuttles moving supplies in and out of them all, with regular patrols along the roads, some casualties but they've been just grunts.
Y/N- good, what about the census?
Walker- still counting, the general population but I do have the military numbers
Y/N- send me them in a file, what about infrastructure?
Walker- the capital is expanding, slowly but it is expanding, steel port and steel water have been turned into city fortresses thanks to their locations though, the space program is... slow, but it's working so far, I heard from Kenzie we might be able to get a self sufficient colony in orbit within the decade.
Y/N- good, send me a full report on the kingdom later, I want full details.
Walker- will do.
With that the call need as Y/N leaned back into the chair with a sigh, it was going to be a long process but in the end, he will see this world under his rule.
