The sun was setting in the sky and Maika and Ema were walking home from school. "I'm so stoked for next week!" Ema said excitedly. "Me too! To think that we're unveiling new Best Friends Rare dresses is so exciting! I can't wait until everyone sees them." Maika replied. Then out of nowhere, Ema's phone started to ring. When she saw who was calling, she gasped. "It's Euterpe?!" "Well, what are you waiting for?! Answer it!" said Maika. So Ema quickly answered the phone. "Hello?" she said. "Good day, Maika. Ema. Sorry for the sudden call, but I have an urgent mission for the both of you." Euterpe explained on FaceTime. "An urgent mission?" Ema asked. "What is it?" Maika added. "There's no time to explain. Now go" said Euterpe before hanging up. Then she used her goddess magic to open up a portal in front of the two girls. "H-Hey! We don't even know what we're supposed to do!" Maika said angrily. "If Euterpe says it's urgent, we can't argue with her. She is a goddess after all." said Ema. "Guess you're right. Whatever we're dealing with, let's just hope we come back in time for the unveiling." said Maika, calming down. "I'm sure we will. Let's go, Maika" said Ema. Maika nodded in agreement and the two girls went through the portal.

On the other side, the girls appeared to be in the middle of what seemed like a farm, though it was a lot bigger than they were since they were now mice. "Where are we?" Maika asked. "I don't know, but I feel tiny." Ema replied. They both looked around each other to see that they were mice. "We're mice!" they said in unison. "But why?" Ema asked. "I don't know, but I think we look cute." Maika replied. "Mr. Ages?" a voice called out. "Mr. Ages, is anybody home?" "Who's that?" asked Ema. "Let's find out" said Maika. The two got out of the blanket and wandered a bit as they were inside a farm as a brown female mouse was on her way inside, wearing a red cape. "Go away!" another voice called out. "Mr. Ages?" the female mouse continued to call until she saw Maika and Ema. "Oh, you're not Mr. Ages." "I'm Maika" Maika introduced. "And I'm Ema" Ema introduced. "You two seem to be far away from home." the female mouse said. "I guess you could say that" Ema grinned sheepishly. "And you are, uh, Miss?" Maika asked the female mouse. "Oh, I'm sorry." the female mouse replied. "My name is Elizabeth Brisby, but you may call me 'Mrs. Brisby', just don't forget the 'Mrs'." "It's nice to meet you, Mrs. Brisby" Ema smiled. "It's nice to meet you too, ladies...You must be so scared." Mrs. Brisby said to them.

"What is it?" The voice called out. "That's Mr. Ages." Mrs. Brisby told the girls before going to follow the voice. "Mr. Ages, may I please speak with you? "What?" The voice asked. "I said, may I please speak-" Mrs. Brisby tried to explain to the man she came to see as he came out of what looked like some sort of machine, showing an older male mouse who seemed a little cranky. "With you? Oh, thank goodness! I'm so glad you're home!" 'She seems worried about something or someone.' Ema thought to herself. "Um... Hello, sir." Maika smiled sheepishly to the older mouse. "I'm fine!" Mr. Ages continued to cough as he grumbled to himself. "Confounded machine! You never know when it's going to up and blow!" "Yes... I don't suppose you would remember me..." Mrs. Brisby said to him, a bit nervously. "Yes, you're Mrs. Brisby," Mr. Ages replied before he went to go back into his machine. "And I am sorry about your husband's death. Now if you'll excuse me..." "Mr. Ages!" Ema called out. "S-Sir?! Come back here!" Maika added. "Mr. Ages!" Mrs. Brisby cried out. "Great Jupiter, woman, what do you want?" Mr. Ages asked Mrs. Brisby, now coming up behind her. "Mr. Ages, I know you don't like visitors, but this is an emergency! Please!" Mrs. Brisby begged. Suddenly, an explosion shook the machine which knocked Mr. Ages down. "I'm not sure if I wanna know what that sound was." Maika shivered. Mrs. Brisby raced after Mr. Ages and peered over the shaft's edge as the older mouse was lying in a basket suspended by a rope. "Madam, that is an emergency." Mr. Ages told the female mouse before pulling on the rope, sending the basket to rise up to the top of the shaft where Mrs. Brisby and the girls waited. "Oh, Mr. Ages, my son Timothy is so sick!" Mrs. Brisby frowned. "Does he have a cold or the flu?" Maika asked. "No, it's a little more severe than that." Mrs. Brisby frowned. "What are his symptoms?" Ema asked. "Timmy? The one with the spider bite?" Mr. Ages then replied to Mrs. Brisby. "Oh, just give him some pepsissiwa root, and-" "No! No!" Mrs. Brisby cried out, grabbing him by his shirt and shaking him. "No, he's sick with a fever!" "A fever?" Ema frowned. "Well... I suppose I could fix up something..." Mr. Ages said to the widowed mouse. "Mind if we come with?" Maika asked. "All right... Follow me..." Mr. Ages replied before looking sharply to them. "But don't touch anything! Understand?" "We understand." Maika and Ema replied while Mrs. Brisby nodded.
