"Watch out y/n!" My bandaged friend yells out to me as a tree branch collapses from the trunk. He pushes me out of the way, and as I shuffle in the air, the branch slices at his chest. I hear a quiet grunt as the large branch drops to the ground.
I look up and see him kneeling, holding his shirt that starts seeping blood.
"Zack!" I get up from the ground filled with leaves over to him. "Are you okay?"
He chuckles. "Yeah, yeah I'm fine." He stands, and flinches as the blood gushes out. "Tch." He clicks his tongue, unsatisfied.
"Your not fine! Hold on." I grab my bag, and start searching for anything to help him. My eyes widen as I notice something.
"Hey!" He says as I unzip his sweatshirt, "What do you think you're doing?" I look at him and show him bandages.
"It's not too deep that you need stitches, but we need to stop the bleeding."
He grabs my hand. I flinch, then realize he was just taking the bandages from me.
"I can do this myself, dammit." He removes his own red-stained bandages and replaces them with fresh ones. I've never seen his bare skin all these years.I met Zack 5 years ago. He was 19, maybe 20 and he had just gotten out of prison. He had saved a girl named Rachel from a fiery building, but the facts are still unclear to me. A month later, she jumped from the hospital window, and no one knows why. After Zack heard the news he was depressed for a long time.
I found him trudging around in front of my house. I came downstairs and opened the door. "Excuse me sir? Do you need something?" He looked at me with dead eyes. He smelled like booze. "...Rachel?" He hugged me. My face flushed and I pushed him away. "I'm not Rachel, sir. I think you're drunk."
He looked at me for a long time, silent. "Oh. Right. She's dead." He says in a monotone voice. "I'm acting just like her right now."
I looked at the male and smiled a bit. "I can bring you home. Where do you live?"
He looks back at me. "I have nowhere to go." He stares at my blank expression. He hugs me again.
"S-sir?!"
He looks at me with puppy eyes. "Please. I need someone." He snuggles into me.
"What...?" Clearly it was the first time he was drunk.
He exhales deeply. "You're so warm."I've never seen him like that since then.
"Hey! Y/n!" Zack yells at me.
I look at him. "What?"
He throws the bandages at my face. "Let's go."
I rage. "Asshole! Don't throw things at me!" This guy thinks he's so much better than me?
"Huh?!" He picks up the bandages and throws them at my face again. "Sorry, I didn't hear what you said."
As he stands up, I whip them at his face. "Like a taste of your own medicine, huh?!"
He grabs my shirt. "Don't be a bitch." From his expression I could tell he was joking, but I had a serious look on my face. Was it because my heart fluttered every time he would touch me? I blush hard as he starts laughing. "C'mon. It's your fault we got lost here anyway. We should go back home." He starts walking always from me, and I squeeze my heart over my shirt. Why am I feeling like this?!
