So today is the day I start my Freshman year of High School. I know no one in this town besides my mom. So it's going to be hard to meet people.
I set my alarm for 6:00 because school starts at 8:30. I woke up 1 hour before I wanted to. I decided since I was already awake I should get ready. I took a 30 minute shower.
I'm not the type of girl that cares about how she looks. So I just threw on my favorite pair of (somewhat skinny) blue jeans, a Greenday t-shirt, a red and black flannel, and some combat boots. I put my hair into a high ponytail. I put on some mascara and a tiny bit of brown eyeliner.
After the 30 minutes it took me to get ready I still had an hour till I had to leave, so I decided to send Lizzie and Andy texts for when they got up.
Text sent to Lizzie:
Hey, I know you're not up yet but I wanted to tell you that I start school in a little bit.
Text sent to Andrew
I just wanted to tell you that I start school in a little bit.
I knew I probably won't get a reply until later. I grabbed my light blue backpack and headed to the kitchen of the small apartment I was currently living in.
Before I got to the kitchen I went to make sure my mom was awake. We both could not be late today. Today was her first day of work and it was my first day of school.
I knocked on the door to make sure it was okay for me to come in. When she opened the door she already was dressed had her hair done and looked like she was ready to go to work.
"Just making sure you're awake," I said.
"Okay. Sweetheart do you mind making me some coffe? I'm almost ready to go."
The kitchen was nothing fancy. It was both a kitchen and a dinning room. There was a small table with two chairs close to the living room. On the other side of the room there was a couple small beige counters, a off-white fridge, a coffee maker on top of the counter, and a stove.
I grabbed a bowl, the milk, and a box of Fruit Loops. I started to make some coffee for my mom and I. I made myself a bowl of cereal grabbed a cup of coffee. While I ate I made sure to check the clock to know what time I needed to leave. I have 20 more minutes.
