Rememberence

-Luka's POV-

I can't even believe that it's been this long since I've seen him... I wonder how he is...

"Luka!"

"Huh?" I snapped out of my daze, realizing that one of my oldest friends, Meiko, was calling my name.

"Hey, Luka!" Meiko ran up to me and pulled me into a bone-crushing hug. "Oh my gosh, I haven't seen you since high school!"

"Y-yeah.. How have you been, Meiko?" I gently smiled.

"Oh, I've been great! Kaito and I-"

I interrupted Meiko. "You and Kaito?! Oh, I'm so glad you two stayed together!"

"Thanks, hun. But anyway, Kaito and I are settled down now. We have two beautiful twins, Kaiko and Meito." She held up a picture of her family; Kaiko, a girl, resembling Kaito and Meito, a boy, resembling my old friend Meiko. I glanced closer and saw that Kaito hadn't changed.

"They're so cute!" I smiled.

"And you, Luka? Have you found anyone special? Any kids I don't know about?"

I blushed, remembering the fact that myself, a 23 year-old woman, hasn't even had her first kiss yet. "N-no.. No special person, no children.." I looked down at my feet for a brief second before looking up to Meiko's disappointed, yet sympathetic face. "Oh, Luka." She hugged me, tightly. "You'll find that person someday. But for now, stay happy, 'kay?"

I nodded. "Alrighty."

"Now, how about some sake?" She giggled, very giddily. I rolled my eyes, sighing. Same old Meiko. "Sure." Meiko grabbed my wrist and dragged me over to Haku, who was serving drinks. She smiled at us and asked, "sake?"

"Two, please. Oh, and one for Luka, too!" Meiko joked. I snickered and then accepted the Sake as Haku handed Meiko and I our glasses of the alcohol.

About an hour later, Meiko had consumed twenty glasses of Sake. As I was about to take a sip of my third, I noticed a familiar face.

They caught eye contact with me. "Luka?"
