Chapter one

Finally, I clocked eighteen, a world of adulthood, I thought when one is eighteen, they are free to do what they want or can decide on little things concerning themselves. But I was still under my mum restriction. I had no options at all, it was always about what she wants and what she thought was right.
My aunty Lisa, my mum younger sister wanted me to be free, she wasn't happy with my mum caging me and checking up on my every movement. That was why her and my mum mostly had quarrels. She was my favorite because she understood me.
Time for me to go to the university finally arrived, what I have longed for. I feared my mom will ask me to go from home because she was capable of saying anything as long as she has her eyes on me, but aunty Lisa talked to her and for the very first time, she agreed to let me out of her sight on the condition that I would visit home frequently, that wasn't a big deal for me so I accepted.
It was like a dream to me, right then, all my soul, heart and body wanted was to explore the world.

There was this joy it gave me seeing my mom and sister wave at me after dropping me off in school. It was like a dream seeing myself standing far away from my sister and mother as their car drove away. I said to myself now the real life start.
"Hi, I'm Cindy"

"I'm Chloe"

"I'm new here"

" Yeah, I know and I'm your roomie"

" So can I get - - -" I tried saying something.

(Chloe interrupting) "why don't you just tidy up your stuff, settle down and we can talk later" she said.

"Alright"

After everything, I sat down thinking on how my life was going to be from now, then my mind stroke to something else. Chloe, she looked so calm and gentle. To me, she has a reserved personality, I thought of bringing up a conversation with her so at least we can communicate.

" Hi" I said to her as she gently raised her head looking at me. "Hope you don't mind but i want to ask few questions"

"Sure, go ahead, what are they?"

" About the system and how everything here works?"

She narrated and gave the exact answers to what I asked then turned away.
Next, we heard a knock on the door and she went to open it. Though I didn't see the person but his voice was deep tone, well-modulated, charming, sexy, calm, and pleasant to the ear.

"Who was that?" I was forced to ask.

"My cousin"

"Okay."

The next day, after my first lecture, Chloe offered to take me on a walk around campus. We were slowly walking and talking till a guy walked up to her, he gave her a tight hug and pat her butt, then she gave him a dirty sexy smile. I was shocked and irritated, I just had to turn away. After their conversation, the guy left.

"Let's go" she said and I had to give a fake smile.

Lectures the next day was so boring and tiresome, I was hungry so I had to stop by the cafeteria to get something to eat.

"Hi" a girl with a brown hair, brown glowing eyes, and melanin skin sitting close to me said waving.

"Hi" I replied

"I am Tianna"

"I'm Cindy"

"You're new?" She asked.

"Yeah, still getting familiar with the place and processes."

She smiled and said "that's normal".

"Yeah, so how many years course?"

"Five, you?"

"Wow, that is much, mine is four"

"Well, lucky you, not that much though"

"A year is a much difference for me" I said and we laughed.

Slightly turning away, I saw a very awkward scene of a guy kissing his girlfriend in the most weirdest way.

" That sucks" I said feeling irritated.

"What's that?"she asked.

"That" I said pointing outside the window to where they were sitting.

"Oh that, Dre and his gang."

"Pardon"

"Cindy, that is common here as long as Dre and his group exist in this school"

"Yuck, can't he do it somewhere private"

"You will get to see this often and even worse, you just have to get used to it"

"That's bad, who is Dre anyways?"

"Dre Nolan, their captain" she said and laughed. "Over there" she continued "The one reading a book, the one with ebony black hair, tall, pink lips, light skinned, and handsome. All girls have their eyes on him." She said close to my ear, putting one of her hand on my shoulder.

"All girls, like all, Including you?" I said purposely with a smile.

"You're silly" she said and we giggled.

"No, not me" she said.

"Well, I just see someone reading a book, I don't see all those features"

"That's because you are seeing him from a distance and the book is kind of obstructing his face. He is tall, handsome, has this muscular body shape, damn sexy with the six packs and all, he has a moisturized skin, walks elegantly, his perfume is appealing and so refreshing. He is the heir to one fashion and design clothing company." she said explaining and demonstrating.

I gazed at her with amazement.

"Anna, how do you know all this?"

"All what?"

"Six packs, being sexy, body shape, moisturized skin, perfume"

"You can tell when you see him"

"Hmmmmm" I said with a suspicious smile.

"Get rid of those thoughts, I'm just trying to give a detailed description, I don't love him. No, I don't"

"Alright, ok, if you say so, he looks so calm, but I can tell he must be a player"

"Mere looking" she said and we guffawed.

"Gotta go now, see you later" I said.

"Alright dear"

"Take care"

"You too" we hugged and I left.
