First day of school and I'm already regretting that I had to come back. Since I'm a sophomore, I'm not the one being shoved in a trash can. First days, I think, are always the worst because you get these teachers that don't care about your learning. All they care about is the money in their bank accounts. Funny how they assume someone is a bad kid by all the tattoos and piercings they have. Sometimes i wonder how they try not to tear a kids head off without having their jobs at stake. Anyways, all my friends are the good kids, so I'm not labeled as the "I'm keeping an eye on you" kid. I like to study how teachers plan out what to teach everyday.

My favorite class, I think, would be English because you can write stories about your past and how you feel about things. Somedays I wonder why they ever invented school, for students ( like myself), we think we're here because they want us to grow up smart like Albert Einstein. I wish they could just accept that we aren't all that smart. As I walk down the hallway with my old black combat boots, with my hair tied with a pink ribbon and wearing a pink and navy blue plaid dress, everybody sees the scars and the scabbed over marks on my legs and arms. My friends know that I've been depressed for awhile, they've tried to cheer me up, but all I do is say that I'm ok when really I'm not.

First period I have art class, pretty cool class I'd say, it's kinda like English but you can draw out your feelings on paper.
"Alright class settle down. My name is Mrs. Jay, yes kinda like a blue jay."
Teacher seems nice already. She was quite short with crazy curly hair all pulled back in a ponytail. You could see right before class she was painting something because if all the random colors on her apron and face. I hope we get to choose what our projects are for this year.
"This is Art class,"
(duh, already knew that)
" and you all are probably thinking 'are we picking our projects this year?'"
(yes, get on with it)
"and yes you all are picking your art projects!!"
"YES!" I exclaimed.
"But,there's a catch," she adds.
Crap, I hate it when teachers do this to us.
"When you have a project, you have to stick with it so no backing out. Also it has to be original, like no one has ever thought of."
(let's break out the paints and sketch books already. I swear she's a new teacher)
"Get to it!"
(Thank god!)
I dart over to the paint brushes and paints plus the paper. I feel a hand on my shoulder, I freeze.
" Did it hurt when you fell from heaven?"
My heart sores! It's Davin Bradsworth. Gahh he's so gorgeous!
"Hi Davin." I say shyly yet kinda 'hard to get'.
"You don't seem very happy to see me." He seemed concerned.
One thing I didn't tell you, I dated Davin a long, long, long time ago. We were in 6th grade so we were pretty young.
"I'm fine." I push past him.
"Then what are these?" He grabs my right arm, showing my scars.
"I'm fine! Plus why do you care?" Putting my brush into some blue for my sky.
"Can't I be worried for my friends life?"
I slam my brush down and glare at him.
"Why don't people believe that I'm better?!" I scream.
"Is everything ok over here?" Asked Mrs. Jay.
"No, Davin is bothering me." I said.
"No I'm not, I'm trying to have a conversation with her."
I give a more "I'm gonna kill you" look.
The bell rang right before we had to go out into the hallway and "talk about what happened."

Second period and I have geometry. I've always hated math, I just haven't liked the idea of numbers or math homework.

Cathy Renolds high school is all about the sporty kids and the brainy kids. I'm more of a writing/artsy kid. A man rushes into our classroom, but slips on the floor making land on his butt. The entire class breaks into laughter, including me.
"Well, I hope you liked my 'rush into class' act," With humor in his voice," my name is Mr. Austen, I'm your geometry teacher for the rest of the year."
He looks awfully tired, probably from "late" lesson planning. He's 6"1' and wore thick eye glasses and dressed like a college professor would. Mostly all we did was review Algebra problems from last year, also a new teacher, kinda figured with him slipping into class.
"For homework tonight"
(here we go)
"all you need is to find a book cover for your geometry books."
(thank you, I thought we had an actual math assignment, that's probably tomorrow).
The bell rings and off I go to world history with Mrs. Neal. I had her last year for civics, she's pretty cool, I guess.
I find my seat in the back of the class, and I find Davin is in this class also, crap.
"Well hello again." Says Davin.
I roll my eyes and sit down.
"Why are you mad at me? I didn't do anything to you."
That's it.
"Look, we dated, I liked you, but now your really getting on my nerves so do me a favor and just do small talk and not long conversations, kapeish?" I say.
He looks sad and just turns away. I still like him, I like to play "hard to get". I liked his messy brown hair, and his pretty blue sky eyes.
"I don't understand why you hate me. I really thought you liked me."
(I DO! I just wish guys could see it)
"I do." I whispered.
He grabs both of my hands and kisses them. My heart flutters and a smile comes on my face.
"Avory?"
"Yes?"
(I really hope he asks me out:))
"Will you be my girlfriend?"
(YES!!)
"Yes!!"
He smiles and moves over to a desk that was closer to me. I guess first days aren't so bad after all.
