BAU's Cutest Couple

First Meeting

*Cory's POV*

As I walked into the bullpen of the BAU, on my first day working for the FBI, a sense of nausea hit my stomach. I decided to swallow the feeling and continue my way into the BAU's Unit Chief's office to see a tall dark-haired man named Aaron Hotchner standing at his desk ready to head out with files in his hands.

I cleared my throat, "SSA Hotchner? I'm Cory Jameson, direct transfer from my law firm in-", "Philadelphia, right?" He interrupted me. My face turned a pink color as I nodded. "Yes sir. I was a defense attorney when I got a call from a technical analyst named Penelope Garcia telling me to come here today to report to you. Is that right?"

Hotch nodded, "Miss Carter, you understand what we do here at the BAU, right? Anyway, we are short-staffed and you were top of your class at Yale. I would like to invite you to join our team and help us in our cases if that's alright with you." Right as he finished his sentence. There was a knock on his office door and as I turned around, in walked a tall, skinny man who had long brown hair, clear frame glasses and was dressed in dark khakis, a blue striped button-up with a simple dark brown sweater on top, and white converse with a small brown messenger bag over his shoulder.

His voice was soft and almost adolescent when he spoke, "Hey Hotch? JJ is ready for us, in the conference room." He notices me, "Oh sorry, didn't see you were with anyone. Should I go, sir?" I kind of just stared at this mystery man, confused about how young he looked yet he was in the BAU. Hotch looked at him and nodded, which I think he does a lot.

"Tell JJ we'll be there in a sec, Reid. This is a new member of our team, Miss Cory Jameson. We should probably head into the conference room. Cory, this is Doctor Spencer Reid, boy genius." Hotch chuckled as all three of us left his office to the conference room where I saw 5 more people. One face is familiar, but the others are strangers.

Emily Prentiss, my old college roommate from Yale was sitting at the table. Upon seeing me, she got up and hugged me. "Cory, I am so glad you're here. Penelope told me you were joining us." I hugged her back, missing her after so many years. "How was being a defense attorney?"

I smiled as seeing her brought back fun memories, "I was a part of a firm in Philly, I was mostly successful except for a case or two. I have always wanted to be a part of the BAU, psychology, and analysis has always been a passion of mine, you know that." As I talked, I noticed Dr. Reid kind of watches me with the intent of trying to read me.

Hotch speaks a little louder, " Okay guys. Let's get a move on, we can do introductions and catch-ups on the jet. JJ let's get started." He looked at me and the rest of the team as we all sat down. I sit next to Emily with Dr. Reid across from me...
