Izaya's POV:

"GAHHH!! Shit!" Everything hurt, especially my throat. I coughed and choked for a few minutes while my eyes adjusted to the bright white light around me. Slowly pushing myself up from the floor I was laying on I glanced around while holding my aching throat. The hell? Where am I?! I started to panic. It was nothing but clean white floors in an endless white room, I was like a nasty speck of black paint against a white canvas.

"Finally, about time you got up-" A voice came from behind me so I jerked and turned around, though what I was meet with I honestly didn't expect.

A small child stood in all white, their vitiligo skin a very harsh contrast to the white all around us. They just stood their with a brow raised, glancing me up and down. "You really thought you could survive a gunshot wound like that? Man you're stubborn" Who the hell does this kid think- wait... Survive?.. My eyes widened in shock as I slowly stood up, panic truly setting in. "No... No- no no no!! I died?! Are you fuckin kidding me?!" I yelled, storming up to the kid who seemed unfazed.

"Yes you did. What did you expect jackass?" Jackass? Jackass?! I was seething with rage, my palms aching as I clenched my hands into tight fists. "Jackass?! What are you? God or some shit! I-" "Ahaha!! God?! Oh please!!" The kid started laughing, their emotionless face turning into twisted joy. I stood in shock, unable to understand what was so funny and as the kid slowly stopped laughing, I think they were able to notice.

With a sigh the kid lazily waved their hand and spoke "No, Im not God. You humans have a very weird way of putting things. And no Im not an angel either! God, angels, heaven, hell; that's all ridiculous mumbo jumbo religious humans made up to make themselves feel better" As the kid talked they slowly walked around me in a circle, looking almost bored until they stopped just beside me and smiled; a smiled that sent a chill through me.

"No, God isn't real. My name is Nothing"

Thats a stupid name I thought to myself with a scowl and by the look on the kid's face, I instantly assumed they could read my mind. "Well that'd not very nice, I happen to like my name! It also fits very well" they huffed and suddenly grabbed my sleeve, pulling me in a random direction as they walked. "H-hey! Don't drag me!" I tried to protest, pulling back but the kid was oddly extremely strong. "I'll do what I want. Now, as you're probably wondering; you're dead." They stated bluntly.

"No shit" I sarcastically said, rolling my eyes. This caused Nothing to give me a short glare before continuing, still walking. "And as you heard before, heaven and hell aren't real. There are however options! Revive or Derive. Revive is a restart and can be asked for at any moment though be aware you won't remember your past life-" I cut the kid off, my thoughts running wild. "So like reincarnation?" I asked. They slowly nodded, glancing up at me. "Exactly. You'll be reborn, wiped clean and get to live again. Then we have Derive!"

Suddenly the kid stopped walking, still holding onto my sleeve. "Derive will be similar to what you humans see as poltergeists or hauntings. If you have unfinished business, as you humans put it, you will be allowed to wonder the Earthly realm and speak to one person and one alone."

My brain slowly processed this new information, it was hard to make a decision as there seemed to be gaps in my memory. Derive sounds interesting. But what would I go back for? What is the last thing I remember? I... Sh... Shizu... Shizu-chan?

It suddenly clicked and the kid in white gave me a knowing look, a small smile on their face.

"Shizuo!!"

"Very well~" My eyes widened, feeling the kid suddenly let go of my sleeve and all weight around my body leaving. It hurt for a moment but suddenly I was floating.

"Huh? W-wait!-" and just like that. There was nothing again.

Third Person POV:

The kid in white giggled, watching the dead man disappear with panic written all over his face.

"Nothing! Don't tell me you're messing with wondering souls again!" Another little child yelled, running up to the kid in white. This other child had long brown hair, a sun kiss tan and bright white and gold clothing; a lot less plain than the other child.

The other kid, shrugged as their clothing slowly faded to a striking midnight color, silver jewelry dripping into view like solidify water. They smiled at the brightly dressed kid, a mischievous glint in their eye. "Aw come on Fil, its all in good fun!"

Fil huffed, giving Nothing a short punch in the shoulder. "Ow he-" "stop messing with my job, I have to give people fulfilment! ITS LITERALLY MY NAME!"

Nothing started to laugh, throwing their arm over Fulfilment's shoulder. "Oh don't worry-"

"He'll get the fulfillment he needs~"
