Kilian Reyes could endure many things on a Monday morning.

He could bear his roommate Finn waking him up by attacking his beautiful face with a pillow. He could even handle spilling coffee onto his school uniform and running back to his dorm to change.

But he could not stand Noah Rivera smirking at him.

"Your face makes me wanna throw up," he stated frankly, glaring as Noah laughed.

Noah Rivera always laughed. He was always composed, always wearing his charming smile, not once letting anything get to him.

Unlike Ian, who looked close to bursting in his seat.

"That's new, Kilian. Usually, my face remembers people that angels do exist."

Ian's glare hardened. Noah was the only one to call him Kilian because he knew how much he hated it, and it made Ian's anger flare up even more.

"I'm literally gonna throw you out of this window."

Noah just shrugged. "I just came to tell you the council's meeting after school."

"Again? We just met yesterday."

"The school's event is coming up, we still need to figure out what's the fundraiser this time," Noah replied. "You don't have to come if you don't want to."

Ian's expression darkened. "I'm part of the council. Of course I'll be there."

A winning grin settled on Noah's face. "Good." Then he turned around and left, walking to his own classroom. Ian slumped in his seat with anger still boiling in his veins.

There was no reason for Noah to come to his classroom and tell him about the meeting. They usually sat together during lunch because they shared most of their friends, but Noah liked to piss Ian off – even on a Monday morning.

"You two are like kids," Finn commented. He had been sitting next to Ian all along, but had kept his gaze on his phone, not interrupting the heart-warming moment between the two students.

"And you're dead. Wake me up like you did today again, and I'll chop your dick off while you sleep," Ian retorted.

Finn glanced up at his friend. "Charming."

He knew better than to push Ian when he was like this, so he let the conversation drop and waited for their first lesson of the day to start. Finn and Ian had been friends since their first day at the academy. They had been lucky to be assigned as roommates because they instantly hit it off, and now they proudly called themselves best friends – even when one occasionally threatened to castrate the other.

Classes were stressful as usual, the teacher's expecting nothing but perfection to keep up the school's pristine reputation, so when the bell finally released them to lunch break, Finn and Ian were racing to the cafeteria.

They didn't care about bumping into other students as they raced through the hallways; nobody would mind. Ian was fairly popular at the academy and Finn was well-respected as well, so nobody said anything as the boys sped past them.

As usual, Finn beat Ian and reached the line of waiting students first, shooting his friend a triumphant smile. Finn was an athlete and part of the school's swim team, so it was no surprise Ian could hardly keep up with him. Still, Ian would never get tired of competing against his best friend.

They waited until it was their turn to pick up food before sitting down at their usual table. Most of their friends were already there. A majority of them were part of the swim team, and the rest were part of the student council with Ian. One could consider it an odd mix of athletes and academics, but they all got along well.
