The Essence of Wolf's-bane

Request: So you know how the Whomping Willow will be unlocked at year 6? Is it ok if I request an imagine where the reader became a werewolf over the summer and is distress throughout the school year on how to tell their friends? They start noticing how the reader's routines changed dramatically: Seeing Snape (for a Wolfbanes Potion) once a month; recovering in Hospital Wing once a month; becomes uneasy about the topic (like not using "I'm a werewolf" when playing Gobstones).

Energetic chatters filled the Great Hall as friends reconnected, enthusiastically recalling the details of their eventful summer holiday. Everyone sat at their respective tables while they listened to Dumbledore's introductory speech, feeling slightly odd without Bill's presence amongst them.

However, it wasn't just Bill missing. The students gathered in the hall couldn't help but notice the absence of (Y/N) (L/N) and rumors quickly circulated through the houses, wondering where on earth they could be.

After the introductory announcements and the sorting of the first years, Andre, Barnaby, Ben, Charlie, Penny, Rowan, Tonks, and Tulip gathered at the Gryffindor table. All of them wondering the same thing:

What happened to (Y/N)?

The group was now in their sixth year of Hogwarts and the missions they set off on became increasingly more dangerous, but without (Y/N), they could not proceed.

"I get that Bill's gone," started Tonks, scanning over the Great Hall once again, "But where's (Y/N)?" She asked, drumming her fingers against the wooden table.

"I haven't seen them since the train!" exclaimed Ben as he and Barnaby feasted upon the food in front of them. Worried about Barnaby staining his robes with tomato soup, Andre grimaced and pushed the bowl farther into the table.

"They're not the only one that's missing!" added Tulip mysteriously, pointing at the empty seat at the high table where the Potions Master usually sat, "Professor Snape is missing too!"

The group looked at the empty seat with worry, it was unlike (Y/N) to disappear without warning, they usually informed their friends if there was something wrong. Charlie scratched his head attempting to wrap his mind around the situation, "What if they just got in trouble?" He asked optimistically and Rowan shook their head

"Impossible! We all know (Y/N), and they wouldn't get in trouble unless it related to the Curse Vaults" added Rowan, crossing their arms with a huff. Charlie gave her a small shrug, munching on a piece of garlic toast as they frowned.

Penny let out a sigh and placed her hand on Rowan's back, "I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation for this" She added but was halted by a loud creaking noise down the hall. The large, wooden double doors flew open and the students saw the unmistakable form of Professor Snape rushing down the hall with an unusually panicked expression.

Reaching the high table, Professor Snape leaned over, his greasy hair covering his face as he urgently whispered to Headmaster Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall. They watched the color drain from Dumbledore's face as Professor McGonagall clapped a hand over her mouth, the two of them rising and following Snape down the hall.

The students noticed the three professors exiting the Great Hall, but paid no attention to it as they indulged in their meals. (Y/N)'s friends frowned towards the closed doors, truly worried something terrible might've happened. It was completely unlike the Professors to rush out of a room without explanation, especially while they wore expressions of panic.

Furrowing her brow, Tonks rose from her seat in an attempt to follow them but was halted by Penny's hand grabbing hers, "You don't think that's the least bit suspicious!" exclaimed Tonks as her roommate held her back.
