Gray skies with angry thunder clouds loomed over the gruesome battlefield. The Evergreen pack fought viciously with its future leaders leadingn them. 14 year old Taehyung and Dori ran through the invaders killing anyone in view—Dori with her katana and Taehyung with his gun. Yells of agony and victory filled the area, the sky getting progressively darker. Taehyung and Dori were back to back fighting warriors. "Don't ruin this Dori, they're techniques are sloppy even you can handle this." With their heightened reflexes and strength anyone within arms reach was killed. Dori laughed slicing a warrior with her katana, while dodging incoming attacks. "Shut the hell up Taehyung, you're lucky I'm here helping your ass." Taehyung rolled his eyes while shooting a warrior in the head.

"You think Grandmother Oakly would care if I left you here to deal with the rest," Dori grabbed her daggers out her boots jabbing it in her opponent's neck. Her male counterpart turned to her his blood boiling with annoyance. While he wasn't looking a tall, rugged warrior with eyes of rage stabbed his abdomen. Taehyung choked on the air in his lungs falling to the ground. This caused Dori to whip her head towards him seeing the attacker ready to kill. She speed in front of her mate and future pack leader. "Why did your dumb ass take your eyes off him, I thought their techniques were sloppy." The wound was deep enough to hit bone so it was healing slower. "What! You little bitch, what did you say," the man put more strength into his blade against her katana. He was an alpha but Dori being of royal blood made her ten times stronger. She smirked seeing it enrage him more, "you heard me you dipshit. Your pack is full of lowlifes."

The tall opponent kicked Dori's leg messing up her balance before slashing her face. He only hit her left eye before Taehyung shot him in the head—his wound had healed after she was hit. A loud thunder ripped through the air before pouring down its contents. Taehyung ran to his mate, his inner wolf whining in pain as they were emotionally connected. "Dori goddamnit why can't you focus on one thing." She held her throbbing eye groaning in pain. Her body was trying to heal but not dealing with this level of damage delayed the response. "I swear once I'm ok I'll fucking kill you Taehyung."

"I am truly disappointed in the both of you." The sky now looked a gloomy gray with blue streaks floating about. Both leaders were in the True Forest, the Evergreen's most sacred place. Where you can communicate with their goddess and the dead. Their goddess being the first female alpha to ever grace the pack, now dead and reincarnated into a white oak tree. Gaining her the name, Grandmother Oakly. Her beautiful face morphed into the tree giving comfort to anyone who came to see her. Before her stood the two teenagers, one with their head down in shame while the other clutched their injured eye. "You are the future of this pack. You are training to become powerful leaders, but you can't do that when you're arguing 90% of the time." Dori winced as her eye pulsated, Grandmother Oakly raised one of her vines giving her a bowl containing a healing potion. "I'm sorry my child but it seems even with my potion you'll lose your sight in your left eye." Dori tensed at the news fighting the urge to scream and cry. "As for you young man. Since you can not contain your hatred you will be consumed by it until you learn to overcome it." Taehyung panicked—scared of his punishment. Worried how he would overcome his darkness. What would become of him? How long would this take?

He felt an intense pain spread through his body—as though it was being ripped in two. He fell to his knees screaming in pain. Dori looked out her one eye horrified by his outburst. Black tree branch lines started appearing on his left shoulder, he cradled the area trying to ease the pain. "What the hell is wrong with him!" The female's question was ignored as
'THE SHADOW LIKE ME' spread under the alpha's right eye. Soon the screams stopped as a deadly silence filled the air— no one dared to speak too afraid of the outcome.

And that was the rebirth of Taehyung and Dori.
