I hid in his classroom for the duration of the morning. They wouldn't go away, like they usually did, which was odd. They usually have up earlier. I paced back and forth in the empty classroom. Well, almost empty. "Are you going to chill here until class begins, or do you want to chance it?" My teacher, Evans, asked. "Depends on if they're still there, and I don't want to chance it. After all, you're my first period on A days, no point leaving if I'm going to have to come back." I shrugged, not entirely sure what else to say. "Well, this is your lucky, or unlucky, depending on how you look at it, day" Mr.Evans then tossed a thin booklet. "I finally got permission to do a lesson on Revenants, so you get to help!" I glared, but ultimately decided to not complain. It was one of the subjects I had a mild...Obsession with. When teach saw my glare, he smirked. "You know you want to, you're nearly as good as I am at describing and understanding them. Makes it all the worse that you somehow don't have one." He shrugged, then got a far off look. " It's so fascinating that there is someone that isn't Watched like the rest of us. I couldn't believe it when you told me. I still barely can." He then took a second to gather is thoughts, and then asked me without paying much attention. " Do you want to do Formers, or Currents?" I was thinking. Even for Freshman year, I was still considered a good teachers aid. During some classes when he needed to help someone, I took over. He was never gone for more than 30 minutes, but I just knew the other students didn't like me even more during those times. And they usually didn't like me anyway. I was thinking on what I should do when I heard the bell ring. I quickly got to my seat, hoping no one was thinking it was a good idea to mess with me this early in the morning.
"Alright, class. We finally got permission to teach you all more of your Revenants!" The weren't loud, but you could tell they were paying attention. Almost excited. "And Damon here will be helping!" That got them all quiet. Mark teacher off the list of potential future jobs, and...done! I scowled at mr.evans. I knew he meant well, but it always backfired. He looked pointedly back, and then held up 2 fingers. My eyes widened. I forgot to tell him which I'll be covering. I then held up one finger, saying I'd cover currents. He then nodded, and started talking.
"Now, everyone remembers that Revenants are the ghosts of the past, whether ancestors, legends, or myths. With all those Revenants, all those dead, where do there thoughts and abilities go?" He gestured around the room as if looking for a show of hands. A girl near the back with longer hair raised her hand and stood up. "They become Echoes, right?" She asked, tilting her head, as if not sure. "Not quite" he said, then reassured her "But, almost. Revenants are also known as Watchers. They are the thoughts floating in the ethereal plane, that keep an eye on nearly everyone. While some more powerful spirits can bless multiple people, lesser powerful Revenants can only bless a single person. These "blessings" are better known as "echoes"." He then shrugged "Now does anyone know what a "Form" is?" He looked around, and even I could see all the shaking heads. "Well, a Form is a type of a material echo, making them able to do anything from summon weapons, conjure flames, and create items or energies. I myself, can move things with my mind." A faint blue glow then enveloped the projector remote, and it slowly floated to his hand. I had seen it before, but I could never help but not be interested in his echo. What Revenant had such a good grasp of physical space to move something like that? Athena? Nu? Thoth? The possibilities were endless with something so broad as moving something physical with your mind. Though I have a feeling it was Thoth.

He then used the remote to turn off the projector, which was used as a spotlight. He then walked up to my desk and handed the remote to me. "Here, remember it's about 'currents'" he said with a wink. I cautiously stood up, and walked to the front of the class. Someone tried to trip me, thank God I saw it before. That would've been embarrassing. I cleared my throat to gather some attention.
---------------------
A few glares, but the rest were at least trying to pay attention. I then managed to ask "Does anyone know what a 'current' is?" when I realized I said that too quietly, I said it again, but louder. "Does anyone know what a current is!?" Too loud, oh no. Then I looked around. When I realized no one was getting ready to throw stuff, I got a bit more confident. Hopefully they'll understand this lecture.
-----------------
"Ok, while a 'form' creates things out of nowhere, a 'current' channels the Revenant. This can also manifest in many different ways, but, the most common is knowledge. The main way to right a clear difference between a Form and a Current is that a Current doesn't cause any effect outside of themselves. If we think of it in MMO terms, a Current is a warrior, ranger, or thief, while a Former is a Mage, paladin or summoner. There are some skills that fall somewhat between, but in general, they can be separated this way." I then looked around, some people appear to have understood, so I carried on. "A person that uses more "Current" skills is known as a Passer, while a person with more 'Form' skills is known as an Elapser. Nearly everyone has some combination of skills, most people have at least three, but some are known to have as many as 20. The world record for most amount of Echoes is current Exorcist Lt. James Cardaway, with 23 Echoes. Any questions or comments?" I looked around. Unsurprisingly, no one wanted to raise their hand. After handing the remote back to the Teach, I started heading back to my desk, when I heard snickers from three rows over. "Not like we can learn anything from someone that actually isn't being watched" he whispered to his friend, said friend smirked as well. I then sat down at my desk. Mentally preparing for the next 5 and a half hours of school/torture.
