Family Camping (Part 6)

Camp Little Moose

Catman hadn't been kidding when he said they'd be taking a LONG detour to Camp Little Moose. It took them a full two weeks before they finally saw the camp's wooden sign. The longest of the trip as you can imagine, being the trip to Egypt. "Like someone care to move over a little!?" asked Shaggy from the backseat. "Move over where? There ain't no room between the car seats and nine people back here!" said Catman looking at Shaggy as though he'd lost it. "Rath, get your arm out of my ribcage!" yelled Cleo. "I can't move so forget that note!" retorted Rath. "Ohhh! You just wait until we're out of the van!" warned Cleo. "OW! Who kicked me!?" asked Demon. "Rorry, Mr. Demon!" cried Scooby. "Fred, how much longer until we get there?" asked Velma. "An hour. Maybe two." said Fred making Velma and Daphne groan. "Rath, weren't you suppose to bring the Hot Ra with you this time? OW! OK, who bought the paddle!?" asked Starchild rubbing his head. "Oh dear, I think one of the children sneaked something past us again." sighed Cleo. "How do you not notice something as big as a boat's paddle!?" questioned Rath. "Oh, I don't know. How did you manage to get dropped on you head being mummified?" asked Cleo. "Why you!!!" yelled Rath trying to grab his sister. "Rath, Cleo, be nice to one another!" scolded Cleopatra. "She started it!" grumbled Rath. 

An hour later....

"According to my calculations, we should be arriving at Camp Little Moose right about....now!" said Velma as the ones in the front looked out the window. "Great, I think someone needs a diaper change!" said Spaceman covering his nose as Ranald began gurgling. "Just don't look at me to change the diaper!" said Rath. "Oh, then you can either help unload the Mystery Machine or watch you other four nieces and nephews." said Cleo. "I'll take that risk!" said Rath making Cleo laugh. "Like dude, you never would've made it as a parent!" said Shaggy. "Yes...quite." said Rath looking away. Cleo raised a brow until the van came to a screeching halt dragging unhappy noises from the five babies. "FRED!" yelled Cleo and Demon. "Sorry you two! There's someone right in front of us. I couldn't run him over!" said Fred. "Oh well, while we've stopped, I'm going to bring Ranald to a cabin and change him." said Cleo grabbing the diaper bag and grabbing her son before heading out. "Rath, go with your sister. I don't deem this place safe for infants." said Cleopatra looking out of the van. "Yes, Mother." sighed Rath climbing out after Cleo. "Someone wanna help me with the stroller?" asked Demon getting out himself. "I'll help." said Spaceman. "Like, guys! You heard the man, this place isn't safe! We should be leaving!" cried Shaggy. "Is it bad for once I agree with you?" asked Catman as everyone piled out of the Mystery Machine. "Like nope! Like I could kiss you for that!" cried Shaggy. "What's stopping you?" asked Catman with a smirk as Shaggy's face turned beat red. "You two done flirting over there!?" called Demon fastening Roxy in the stroller. "Like maybe later!" whispered Shaggy. "This place is a dump!" said Velma. "I can see why Demon's Mother in law doesn't want her grandkids here." said Starchild. "That's not even the worst of it." said Spaceman pointing to the Welcome sign with the words "GET OUT" carved into it. "Nice welcome." said Demon as Lotus made a loud "AH!" sound. "Aw! Don't be scared, Lotus." said Daphne bending down and tickling the baby making her squeal and laugh. "Where is everyone?" asked Velma as the gang began walking through the camp. "What's that sound?" asked Daphne. "It's coming from down there, come on!" yelled Fred as everyone besides Demon and Cleopatra ran ahead. Demon because he was pushing the stroller and didn't want to lose his Mother in law or have her wandering off because she was taking in her surroundings for the first time in over 3000 years. When he finally got to where the others were, Demon found himself blinking in surprise. "Yeesh, what happened here?" he asked. "Probably just a prank from those snobs at Camp Big Moose!" mocked Fred crossing his arms. "I've heard of camp rivalries, but this is a little extreme." said Velma. "You hit the nail right on the head, beautiful." said the Sheriff. "Oh, I didn't say anything!" said Daphne. "Wasn't talking to you." said the Sheriff. "Uh, Demon, I think you lost your Mother in law." said Catman noticing the female mummy was missing. Demon froze and had to do a double take. "Oh, you've GOT to be kidding me! Someone watch the kids!" said Demon running back into the woods. "Someone LIKES YOU!" squealed Daphne. "Shut up!" said Velma. "Seriously, Daphne, back off!" yelled Spaceman jabbing his finger in the red head's chest with glowing eyes. "Whoa! Easy, Spaceman! What's gotten into you!?" asked Catman pulling his friend away from Daphne. "Yeah, man, like you've never acted out like that before!" said Shaggy. "Just...just forget it!" said Spaceman walking back towards camp avoiding eye contact with his friends as he left. 

"Well now, what took you all so long to get back?" asked Cleo resting Ranald on her hip. "Yes, did you get lost or something?" asked Rath. "Nope, but Demon lost your mom for a minute." said Catman looking over at Demon who was leading his mother in law out of the woods by the hand. "Demon!" scolded Cleo. "What? I got her back didn't I!?" asked Demon. "Great scot! Is that an actual mummy!?" cried Burt. "Oh, don't be silly! Mother has a....skin condition that makes her skin very sensitive to the light! Her skin will practically blister otherwise. We even had that face mask custom made because my family IS from the desert and mother wanted the honor our ancestors! As you can see, my brother he has the same problem only his isn't as severe as Mother's." said Cleo placing Ranald in the stroller. "Yes, a skin condition, that's it." muttered Rath glaring at Cleo. "Phew! Your Mom and brother had me worried there for a minute, Missy!" laughed Burt. "Oh, it's no trouble. Not the first time its happened!" laughed Cleo casually but silently sent her friends a "play along or you'll regret it!" look.
