The walk to the cemetery was a long one. Taehyung could barely move his feet to continue as he sulked down the sidewalk in the early hours of the morning. His daily routine was to wake up, get ready for work, take a walk to the cemetery and back to his house, to take his car to work, where he sat at his desk for 8 hours before going back to his house to sulk. But today he woke up earlier to go to the store before heading to work, of course, like a creeper he decided to take a stroll.

He passed by many types of houses, the modern ones just recently built, the older ones that were there before the construction company decided to tear some old houses down and add some apartments for more living. But his favorite house to look at, the one with the growing flowers in the front. He would take a look at the house and garden every day.

The colorful growing flowers somewhat distracted him from the peeling paint off the outside shiplap, and the many shingles falling off the roof. Even the door seemed old, but it was darker than the rest of the house so it must've been fairly new. What he really loved about the house was the attic skylight that had a great view over the forest beyond.

With the cemetery only a few steps down the street and the exterior appearance of the house, he assumed it was vacant and abandoned. His eyes went from the dust-filled windows back to the garden of flowers.

They ranged from lilies to gardenias to marigolds. As he examined the flowers, he stopped at the pink lilies and examined them before picking one he deemed perfect. He grazed his finger across the soft petals and gave a small smile. The smile disappeared as he moved away from looking at the house, and heading back towards the direction of the cemetery.

Of course, that house wasn't quite vacant, for right as Taehyung was out of earshot, an alarm sounded from one of the back rooms of the house. The supposed vacant house was definitely occupied because right as the alarm sounded, you could hear someone rolling out of bed, and landing right on the floor with a thud and an exasperated grunt.

Jieun was laying right on her stomach, arms by her side, palms up, and face right to the ground. She flipped her head hard enough that her hair flew out of her face, but one strand stayed right between her eyes. She went crosseyed before blowing the hair out of her face.

Jieun eventually lifted herself by her elbows high enough to look at the time on her alarm clock which read... early in the morning, but she was too tired to actually know the time other than, 'early morning'. With the early morning shining through her windows, she stood up, her arms stretching above her head. As she ended the stretch, she sighed contently.

Grabbing her phone, she eventually stopped her alarm clock before sauntering down her stairs, jumping over the piles of clothes sprawled over every step. She had placed her phone in the waistband of her athletic shorts as she stepped off the last step. Her living room was filled with trash. There were takeout bags littered with all the wrappers from eating, napkins, paper plates and utensils, and white garbage bags of clothes and garbage.

In her kitchen, dishes were piled up on the table and many dishes were on the counter as well. Bags of unopened food, or opened food, also littered the tables and counter. She sighed and opened a cupboard above her sink, the cupboard almost empty, but with a few mugs here or there. In her double sink, one side had one or two dishes but the other was full.

The dirtiness didn't seem to phase her as she placed the mug on a dirty counter, starting her coffee pot, and awaiting the caffeine rush that had yet to come. As she checked her fridge for some breakfast, she noticed how barren it was. Jieun groaned, knowing she would have to go to the grocery store before her shift at the diner that night.

The coffee was eventually finished before she grabbed her mug and poured the contents in. Still stepping over piles of clothes, she eventually made it out of her front door, where she sat on her front step, admiring the quiet street, with the bustle of the city in the background. No one usually walked in this direction, as a cemetery was only a few steps down the way. Many people, not residing in the neighborhood, thought that possibly the condition of the house, made it haunted.
