"You know, they aren't that bad once you get to know them," Byunghoon spoke up as we walked down the hallways.

I huffed at what he said and looked at him. "'Are you being serious right now?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Come on, Yoonhan. When was the last time you had a friend who was a girl?" The tall boy asked with a grin.

Then Kyungmin butts in, "I don't think Yoonhan has ever had a friend who was a girl."

"I was friends with a girl in middle school if you forgot," I replied back as I rolled my eyes and walked faster, away from the two idiots. 

Then I entered my classroom and heard Byunghoon bidding me and Kyungmin a farewell. I ignored the stares from the two blondies near the windows and sat down on my seat. 

"Hana, there you are!" Kyungwoo called out from the front of the class as he walked inside the classroom and over to our desks. "Where were you? I thought you were sick since you didn't pick up your phone earlier today. Are you okay though?"

I mentally sighed and hanged my bag on the side of my desk. Then I faced the dark red-hair boy and answered, "I left my phone since it needed to charge, and why wouldn't I be okay?"

"Um, well, you left the restaurant last night without an umbrella..."He answered, his worry evident in his tone of voice.

I'm definitely not okay since those two girls are staring at me.

"I'm okay," I lied with a forced smile.

Kyungwoo was about to say something else, but before he did, a familiar voice called my name out.

"Yoon Hana."

I froze in my chair and clenched my fists together when I heard his voice. I didn't bother to turn around in my chair to see who it was. Instead, I just ignored him.

"Hana, are you ignoring me right now?" He asked as I heard him walking over to me.

From my side vision, I see Kyungwoo turning around to face him. Then I heard my best friend speaking up.

"Who are you?" 

"That's none of your business. Hana, can we talk-"

"I don't think she wants to talk to you."

Then it went quiet inside the classroom. 

"Hana," Kyungwoo called out gently. "Do you know who he is?"

I bit my bottom lip and took a deep breath in through my nose. Then I turned my head slightly to the right and said, "Yeah,  I know who he is."

"What are you doing here?" I asked once I stepped out into the school's courtyard where the boys and I would always hang out during our breaks.

Park Minhyuk sighed and answered, "Mom wants you to come back home."

I looked at him in disbelief and scoffed, "Mom? You're calling that woman your 'mom' now? Since when did you two become close?"

"Hana, listen... Please, come back, okay?" Minhyuk pushed on, avoiding my questions.

I crossed my arms over my chest and glared at him. "I already told her that I am never going back to that hell of a house. Plus, she's not my mother. Neither is she yours. So go back to Busan, Minhyuk. You're wasting your time in being here." 

Then I started to walk back inside the school building but Minhyuk stopped me by grabbing my right wrist.

"I'm sorry," he exclaimed in a soft tone. "I'm sorry for ditching you behind. I'm sorry for letting them hurt you. I was scared-"

I turned around right at that moment and slapped him. Minhyuk lets go of my wrist as he touched his face in disbelief.

"You were scared?" I spoke up as my anger rose up inside of me. "You were scared of what? Of getting beaten up by those pathetic bullies? You didn't even bother to think that I was scared, too! Do you know how much I went through that day? Well, do you?!"

Minhyuk's eyes start to water as he continued to listen to me. Then he whispered, "Hana, please- I know that I messed up that day but if my dad finds out that I borrowed money from the bullies and-"

"Stop... Just stop talking," I cut him off, glaring at him as I remembered the pain from the punches and kicks of that day. "I wish that I had never met you, Park Minhyuk. I wish that you didn't befriend me on the first day of school. I wish that that woman didn't cheat on my dad and married your father."

I clenched my fists before walking away but before I could get back inside the school I heard Minhyuk whisper one more time.

"I... I am sorry, Hana..."
