Faint light washed over me as the curtain flew open. I reached my hand down, searching for the seat. I find it and sit down carefully. Then, I look up. I look up and see the stars.
I smile, gazing at each one I can see. When I was young, I loved learning about space. I loved learning about every one of the stars and planets and the moon and the sun. It was just interesting to me.
I bring my hand to the window, and start counting stars. It may sound weird, but it helps me tremendously. Helps me forget all of the dangers and lies and broken promises of real life.
Stars have always been better than real life.
Lost in the strange beauty of the dark, I continue counting stars, completely amazed at them. How can stars shine so bright when everything is falling apart?
