AUTOR NOTE
Ok so just so you know the story starts at the end of season one when Karasuno lost to Aoba Johsai and in the original all the third years decided to stay. In the story the time line is gonna be quite accurate but like I'm gonna change some things for the plot. Also in the story some ships will happen...
Ps: it's my first ever story so yeah hehe

Third person POV
"Guys come here!"said the volley ball coach.

As the team gathered around him he started explaining the unfortunate situation with the 4 third years standing behind him with a sad look on their face.

"As you all know, the third years have their final exams coming up and they had to decide if they wanted to stay on the team or if it would be too much on their shoulders. Kiyoko, Sugawara and Daichi decided to stay".

The team smiled in relief but it went quickly away as they realized that one of them wasn't named.

"Unfortunately, Asahi will not continue playing with us since he has to concentrate on his grades to get into medicine school."

The whole team was shocked even Tsukishima who never  showed a lot of emotions had a worried look on his face.

Asahi, the tall and strong boy who wasn't as tough as he looked took a step forwards with tears rolling slowly on his face.

"I-I'm really sorry guys... I n-need t-to think of my f-futur..."

He clearly had a hard time talking. He took a deep breath and continued .

"I made a lot of amazing memories here and I will really miss playing with you guys".

Daichi, the team captain broke the silence as he told his dear friend that he and the whole team will miss him too. The team burst into a big hug except for the first years Kageyama and Tsukishima, who weren't really used to those actions.

"Promise you will win for me" said Asahi

The team didn't have the courage to answer as they didn't thought it was possible with one of their best player gone.

Nishinoya the small libero assured his friend that they would. Even him who was always optimistic obviously didn't believed what he said.

When Asahi left, the team was probably for one of the first time completely silent. Coach Ukai told them that they had to continue practice.

He took Yamaguchi to the side. The first year followed him with a worried look as he knew what coach Ukai was about to tell him.

"Yamaguchi I know that wing spiker isn't your initial position and that it must be really stressful to replace Asahi who was our ace but you will have to"

"I know coach. Since the beginning I really wanted to be a regular but now that I have the opportunity to I feel like I won't be good enough and I don't want to slow down the team. Are you sure they are no other options? If not I promise I will do my best" responded Yamaguchi.

"I understand Tadashi, but we need to deal with what we have for now. I will ask if the team knows a good wing spiker at karasuno. And I swear that you will not slow down the team"

At the end of practice Coach Ukai explained to the team that Yamaguchi will replace Asahi, but that if they knew someone who would be an asset to the team they  would really need someone.

AUTOR NOTE
Hope you liked the first chapter and don't worry we're (well Ayame) is gonna be there soon. I know that technically some of the second years would have took Asahi's place but like let's act like they were not there ok? Like in the story they just won't be there  at all haha. I already have an original plot but you can recommend some things. Btw English is not my first language (it's French) so sorry for spelling mistakes.
Ps: I really love Asahi but someone had to go haha
