When Abel had finally reached where I was, he sat next to me. I looked towards the area where he was previously standing. I saw a whole crew of men with the letters "XO" on their clothing. They were surrounded by women. Paying attention to Abel, I watched as he drank a few shots. No dialogue had been exchanged yet. I had decided that this was a great opportunity to observe his features. The bags under his eyes were clear evidence that he lacked sleep. His top lip confirmed that he had smoked a lot. His minuscule nose was adorable.
"If you keep staring at me you might just get lucky tonight."
His comment had immediately shook me out of my thoughts. I realized that he had caught me staring and instantly replied.
"You might just get lucky if I actually fall for your fuckboy tactics." He giggled at my remark. My face hadn't slightly shifted.
"Don't act like you don't want me."
I almost burst out laughing at his response.
"I don't know you, let alone want you."
He chuckled at my comment and said, "Not yet."
I simply rolled my eyes at him. He really has me mistaken.
I saw Kris walk towards the bar and already wanted to leave. This is my chance. She finally reached the bar.
"Well I'd love to sit and chat, but my friend wants to go home and needs a ride."
As soon as Kris heard my statement she sounded confused.
"Carter, I'm not going home yet. Some guys invited me to their crib and I'm going. We're going."
Fuck. Thanks Kris."Who invited you?" I asked calmly.
She pointed towards the back, revealing the men with the Xs and Os on their clothing.
I heard Abel chuckle again.
"Looks like you're stuck with me for the rest of the night." He revealed a smirk after his sentence. Fuckboy.
Once we arrived at the crib, I already felt the loneliness kick in. I loved Kris but her and I were totally different. She rather be partying all night, while I rather watch ESPN all night. We were always there for each other though.
I realized this was the same home I had been in the last time I had seen Abel. Loud music was playing and Kris was dancing. The usual. The crew of men were paying attention to Kris while smoking and drinking. They were in their own world. I was the typical wallflower. Abel noticed how silent I was being. I avoided making any type of contact with him. I was lost in my train of thoughts when I felt my phone vibrate due to a text message. It was Abel.
"Come with me."
I was reluctant to follow what Abel had commanded.
"No."
I went back to my previous train of thought, yet again I was interrupted by another text.
"C'mon. I promise I won't bite....yet."
Looking annoyed, I removed my eyes from my phone screen and walked towards Abel. I just wanted the night to be over with. He got up from where he was sitting and started walking. I began following his direction. He took me upstairs and led me into a room. The room was a typical bedroom. It was lavish, making it evident that the owner has serious money. The room was slightly dim. Standing next to me, I felt Abel's eyes pierce my face and body. I felt his hankering to have sex when he leaned in and kissed me. I deepened the kiss and pushed him onto the bed. His hands slid under my dress and began to grip my ass. I gave him more than he deserved. I got up and broke the kiss.
"Nice try." I smirked. "But I'm not that easy." He got up and pushed me up against a wall. We looked at each other for so long. His dark eyes had tried to read mine. The thing about sad eyes is that you can't read them so easily. Pushing him back I walked downstairs only to find Kris drunk. Once again, I had to drive Kris home.
